Post Malone just debuted his fashion line in Paris with a live horse

The award-winning artist officially entered the fashion world with beer in hand and cowboy boots on.

Post Malone just launched his very own clothing line, Austin Post, and kicked things off with a surprise runway show in Paris complete with cowboy boots, Bud Light, and on a live horse trotting through Karl Lagerfeld’s former mansion.

Named after his real name (Austin Richard Post), the label kicked off its first season called At First Light at an off-calendar event ahead of Paris Fashion Week. According to a report from GQ, Post wanted to fill the gap between “authentic Americana and modern luxury,” and he’s done exactly that by turning his signature cowboy-core vibe into a full collection.

Just clothes he’d actually wear

In an interview with GQ, Post said he wanted to design pieces that reflect what he wears every day. He also admitted that the whole thing came together fast. While on tour, he and his team built the collection over just six months, bouncing between Utah and LA. “It was spur of the moment,” he told GQ. “I’ve always wanted to make clothes, so I figured, ‘Why the f*ck not now? Why not do it just right now?”

The clothes in Austin Post: Season One are exactly what you’d expect Post Malone to wear himself. Models walked in cowboy-cut leather pants, starched denim, suede suits, fleece hoodies, and sweatpants styled with leather cowboy boots. There were also metal and stone details inspired by Southwestern and Indigenous designs.

He helped choose fabrics himself, particularly drawn to Japanese materials and plaid, and worked with longtime friends and collaborators on everything from design to styling. Accessories came from Morgane Stapleton’s jewelry brand, Tennessee Turquoise Company, based in Nashville. The boots were made with Lucchese, a Texas bootmaker. The sunglasses came from Jacques Marie Mage, a luxury eyewear brand based in Los Angeles.

The final look was a model riding into the venue on a live horse, while A Horse With No Name played in the background. After the final look, Post came out for a quick bow, holding a bottle of beer

The brand plans to sell direct-to-consumer later this year, with pieces ranging from hoodies to heavy-duty coats. A temporary pop-up is now open at Words Sounds Colors & Shapes in Paris, with another planned for New York on September 19 and 20. The NYC event will also launch the label’s Foundation line, a permanent collection based on Post’s own day-to-day outfits.
