Louis Vuitton has found a new playground and, this time, it’s right at the heart of the beauty world. Five months after teasing it last March, the French fashion powerhouse is finally launching its own makeup line, La Beauté Louis Vuitton, designed to elevate luxury beauty worldwide —yes, even here in the Philippines.
This is not just another collection, but a whole new world of beauty essentials for cosmetics fanatics who seek products that blend innovative formula and high-quality ingredients with luxurious feel. Spearheading La Beauté Louis Vuitton’s grand entrance in beauty is influential makeup artist Dame Pat McGrath—the house’s first-ever creative director for cosmetics.

McGrath has been working backstage for LV’s fashion shows for over two decades. All those years working with the house helped her develop a makeup line that redefines luxury beyond high prices and brand name. “Makeup is culture. It’s power. It’s presence. And it’s personal. Luxury in makeup is about performance, craftsmanship, and sensoriality. It’s about textures that feel exquisite, colors that captivate, and formulas that perform flawlessly,” McGrath said.
“True luxury is when every detail is considered—from the way the pigment melts into the skin to the way a lipstick feels in your hand,” she continued. “It’s the fusion of artistry and technology, of heritage and innovation.”

Lippie lovers should better make space for a new obsession, as the collection is debuting with 55 LV Rogue lipsticks—a subtle nod to the Roman numerals for the house’s acronym, LV. The lot comes in two shades—27 of which have creamy satin hues, while 28 come with velvety matte shades—both of which deliver “richly pigmented color.”
All these must-haves of a lippie are enriched with shea butter and hyaluronic acid to give you long-lasting comfort, as well as 12-hour long wear with the matte bullets and 24-hour moisture with the satin ones. What’s more, each lipstick is embossed with the house’s logo and carries a distinct fragrance from upcycled waxes from rose, jasmine, and mimosa.

For everyday lip care, a tasty one at that, there are the LV Baume lip balms which comes in 10 delicious shades, including mint and raspberry. Rounding out the collection are the eight LV Ombre eyeshadows palettes that adds a touch of luxury to every look. Each palette features three everyday shades and one with “a standout hue that shifts the mood, add dimension, or ignites a spark of luxurious glamour.”
Launching with six finishes, from ultra-matte to gleaming glitter, these eyeshadow palettes “really set the tone for La Beauté Louis Vuitton,” says McGrath. “They are bold, intentional, and made to be remembered.”

Every part of La Beauté’s debut collection evokes elegance, from its comprehensive formulas down to its packaging that reflects the house’s strong reputation in luxury travel. The cosmetics come in aluminum and brass cases created by German industrial designer Konstantin Grcic, who is known for his conceptual furniture pieces and exhibition designs.
Among the standouts in this collaboration is the floral motif lock system Grcic designed to make each La Beauté lipstick and eyeshadow distinct, and the monogram lipstick bullet with a window at the top which reveals the lipstick’s shade.

Along with the launch of its makeup line, Louis Vuitton created a vanity trunk, or a portable makeup station, which “pays homage to both Louis Vuitton’s early 20th-century beauty commissions and McGrath’s modern-day backstage beauty station.”

In true LV fashion, all cosmetics by La Beauté is produced in France, with prices ranging from $170 (P9,200) for the lipsticks and lip balms to $250 (P14,300) for the eyeshadow palettes.
Mark your calendars, as La Beauté Louis Vuitton is set to roll out online on Aug. 25 and across 116 stores worldwide on Aug. 29. In the Philippines, the coveted makeup line will be exclusively available in Louis Vuitton’s store in Greenbelt 3, Makati.
