This is probably the most times Taylor Swift racked up clicks, reposts, and shout-outs in her ongoing era of global stardom.
She’s no longer just singing in arenas across the globe about it—Taylor Swift is now living the dream. Her “happy ever after” with her Romeo, aka Travis Kelce, has the internet going crazy.
Taylor and Travis broke the news (and social media) of their engagement on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, through an Instagram post capturing how the football player popped the big question to America’s sweetheart. The images came straight out of a fairytale—the couple looks lovingly at each other while surrounded by fresh pink blooms reminiscent of the ones in the campaign for her “Lover” album.
But like everything that Taylor does, this is more than just an Instagram post. Their big announcement prompted fans, fellow celebrities, and even brands to react in ways surprisingly creative—much like the popstar herself, don’t you think? Not only that, Swift’s engagement dress—a $400 (P22,900) striped sundress by Ralph Lauren—sold out just 20 minutes after they broke the news.
Twitter accounts like @whattaylorwears were also quick to scour the internet for her watch—a Cartier Panthère worth $30,000 (P1.7 million) —and more so her vintage-inspired 8-carat engagement ring, which was crafted by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry and estimated to cost around $550,000 (P32 million). And similar to Taylor’s recent announcement of her “Life of a Showgirl” album, several brands couldn’t shake off their excitement over the couple’s engagement news. Many have come up with humorous social media posts and promos referencing the couple’s latest milestone.

There’s MAC Cosmetics sharing a picture of its Ruby Woo lipstick (Taylor’s favorite shade!) with the caption, “Ruby Woo is ready to say ‘I Do.’ Congrats to our fave Showgirl. 💍”

Then, there’s American Air celebrating Tayvis’ love that has reached greater heights, with an Instagram post featuring its Flagship Suite and a caption that reads, “On every flight, I’ll save you a seat,” a reference to Lover‘s lyrics. The words “English teacher” and “Gym teacher” were added to the image, as a nod to the caption on the couple’s engagement announcement: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

DreamWorks Animation celebrates the couple’s magical love story, with a Twitter post looking back on how it all started—being “accidentally in love.” It shared a photo of Shrek and Fiona gazing at each other on their wedding day, alluding to a similar image Swift and Kelcey uploaded with their announcement.

American pretzel chain Auntie Anne’s is spreading the sweetness—with a dash of wit—in a post on X that reads, “Can I be the flower girl.”

Even local ride-hailing app Angkas is not passing on the Tayvis frenzy. Hours after the couple’s announcement, it published a Facebook post that started off as heartwarming reflection on how Taylor’s love story is “proof that timing really is everything,” then turned hilarious as it relates this lesson to its services. “Same with us. Sometimes the ride you’re waiting for feels like it’s taking forever… But the right match always comes, and when it does, it feels worth the wait.”

The Academy, meanwhile, marked the occasion with a clip of Swift from the 2010 rom-com Valentine’s Day. In the hit flick, the pop star plays high school cheerleader Felicia alongside her then-boyfriend, Taylor Lautner, who stars as the athlete named Willy.
Any Swiftie would know that the pop megastar has been standing in opposition to US President Donald Trump. Swift has done everything, from calling out Trump’s incendiary language to urging her millions of fans to vote for Kamala Harris in the elections. And Trump hasn’t kept quiet about her either. But in a surprising turn of events, the President had nothing but well wishes for the engaged couple. “I wish them a lot of luck. I think he’s a great player. I think he’s a great guy and I think that she’s a terrific person, so I wish them a lot of luck,” Trump told journalists during a cabinet meeting on Aug. 27.
Taylor and Travis’ engagement is not just a win for the couple but also for the football star’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs. “Today is a fairytale,” the team wrote on X in reference to Swift’s hit 2010 track. “Congrats to Travis and Taylor—we’re excited to have you as a permanent member of the Chiefs Kingdom family!” it added.
While Taylor and Travis announced their engagement just yesterday, Aug. 26, Travis’ dad Ed revealed that his son actually got down on one knee about two weeks before making it public. In an interview with News 5 Cleveland, Ed said that Travis’ plan to propose was “months in the making.” It took place in the garden of his Leawood, Kansas estate, almost two years since they started dating in the summer of 2023.
