As millennials, it is hard to keep up with the latest fad. There is always something new and we have the tendency of not wanting to miss out, especially to the Gen Zs, who have strongly influenced fashion trends in recent years.
Whether you follow trends or not, as millennials, we are at the age where we know that trends come and go. What we used to wear in our youth has now become the next trend that the younger ones are donning.
Rather than being confused as to which fashion fad to follow, streamline your wardrobe towards the classics and timeless pieces for a style that will never fade out. And if at this age, you are still clueless as to how to do this, here are four style tips from the country’s top fashion stylist Liz Uy.
First is to know what your style is through experimenting. “As you get to know yourselves a little bit better, you will get to know what your style is, what fits you, what you like, and what you feel good in, and you stick with that,” Uy says.
Next is to know what suits you and what works for you. The 42-year-old explains: “Once you have established what your style is, the next thing you need to know is what works for you and your body type.”
Third is to know your strengths. Uy says that as each body is different, you should keep in mind the following, “Embrace, enhance, focus on that, and then highlight it.”
Lastly, invest in timeless pieces. “I think that people should choose pieces that they are able to wear again and again that they can easily incorporate into their everyday lives,” the mom of two shares.
In addition, the celebrity stylist recommends adding these pieces to your everyday wardrobe: the little black dress or LBD, classic blazers in light and dark tones, a good pair of jeans, a classy skirt, and versatile tops such as tank tops and button downs.
