The brand is experimenting with makeup-inspired looks, bold silhouettes, and accessories as homage by its new fragrance line.
Balmain presents its spring-summer 2025 collection in a daring artistic showcase. The show featured a makeup-inspired color palette and was a statement of the brand’s growing empire. This new era was anchored by Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing, whose latest collaboration with Estee Lauder saw beauty and fashion collide on the runway.

The collection introduced “power face” dresses, inspired by makeup, with beads and fabrics in rich rouge and blush tones. Accessories are referenced in Balmain’s new fragrance, Les Eternels de Balmain. The glossy, ridged textures from the perfume bottles appeared on footwear, and models carried chic fragrance bottles down the runway, making these everyday items instant fashion statements.

Still anchored by Balmain’s signature strong-shoulder silhouette, the label went for bold, sculptural details this season. Faces, lips and hands were embroidered onto dresses and jackets. Artistic touches included round head motifs resembling beauty sculptures.

Roustein’s signature strong-shouldered shapes from his 13 years at Balmain were embroidered with realistic faces, lips, and nails this season. These fine details made the models walk like art. Some dresses had rounded heads, like the one worn by Roustein at this year’s Met Gala. Some references to Balmain history were apparent throughout the collection particularly Pierre Balmain’s “New French Style” and his “Jolie Madame” silhouette.

That collection had an inclusive narrative, something Rousteing is continuously championing. The show ended with models walking in plain silk sheaths in neutral tones compared to the ornate looks that dominated the runway earlier. These closing pieces were his favorite , calling it a celebration of all kinds of beauty within the Balmain Army.
