Lacoste F/W 2025 hits the perfect serve in sophisticated winter dressing

Titled “An Invitation,” Lacoste Fall/Winter 2025 shifts from fun to luxurious, refined sportswear.

Lacoste scored another match point with its Fall/Winter 2025 collection, which is a sophisticated fusion of sports and style for the upcoming off-season.

From its Spring/Summer 2025 capsule that showcased the fun and playful spirit of tennis and the seaside, the French sportswear brand is now taking luxury and finesse to center court with pieces that showcase its more refined approach to fashion.

Like last season’s lineup, this season’s players drew inspiration from how founder Rene Lacosté’s sense of style shifts from breathable polo shirts when he was the world’s No. 1 tennis player, to timeless suits as a game-changing businessman.

Creative director Pelagia Kolotouros’ mood board for the collection comprised a snapshot of Lacosté at a dinner with the Rothschilds, the most famous of the European banking dynasties, along with designer Jean Patou. Dinner jackets and evening dresses abound in the photo seen by WWD prior to yesterday’s show.

Kolotouros used this to bring out the more sophisticated side of the brand, “breaking those boundaries in a very cautious, careful way,” she noted. The result is a triumphant Fall/Winter 2025 collection that she put in play at the clay court of the Roland Garros Stadium in Paris.

Titled “An Invitation,” Lacoste’s Fall/Winter 2025 show elevates sportswear to the next level with fresh dashes of luxury. Kolotouros is changing the game, starting with looks where volumes are big and bold yet, at the same time, breezy.

Opening the show were white puffed coats and double-layered gloves that embody Lacoste’s mastery of style, comfort, and function. This was followed by contemporary ensembles featuring puffer athletic uniforms, wide-leg trousers, and elongated knitted polo shirts that all stepped confidently on the runway.

High-quality craftsmanship and structure are emphasized in boxy blazers and shirts, a leather jacket with oversized collar, as well as suits pinned with bedazzled crocodile emblems. Adding a luxe feel are the performance fabrics, such as technical satins, lush knits, and soft wool, that make every piece a practical investment for today’s goal-oriented society.

When it’s time to party, sparkling cardigans and silk dresses jazzed up with two-toned scarves and pointed heels are out to play. There are also the short-sleeve crewnecks that dazzle with graphics and silver décor and sleek evening wear that comes in deep dark green.

Speaking of colors, Kolotouros infused energy into the collection mostly made up of sophisticated hues in what the designer describes as a “weird take on heritage and also modernity and sports—like the entanglement of three different entities into one.”

A neutral-toned palette consisting of whites, creams, and browns highlighted the elegance of the collection, while green and fuschia brought playfulness to it.
