Saint Laurent S/S26 takes over Paris with hydrangeas, bows, and big gowns

The runway ruled with a powerful cast and an equally star-studded front row.

Saint Laurent opened Paris Fashion Week with a runway set at the Trocadéro gardens, facing the Eiffel Tower. Thousands of white hydrangeas were shaped into the YSL logo, forming the path models walked. The setting was eye-catching, but the focus stayed on the clothes.

This was creative director Anthony Vaccarello’s 30th collection for the brand. The show started with leather jackets, sharp pencil skirts, and crisp shirts tied with large bows. The shoulders were big, the shapes were bold.

The first looks were built around leather. Models wore oversized jackets, fitted skirts, and crisp white shirts with oversized bows at the neck. Shoulders were broad, sleeves rolled up, and the proportions were deliberately exaggerated. The looks felt strict, but not heavy.

Then came a shift to lighter fabrics. Trench coats, parachute-style dresses, and looser silhouettes that introduced more movement. These pieces came in earthy tones like olive, ochre, and chocolate. Some trench coats were styled over nothing but underwear, others with simple pencil skirts. The materials looked easy to wear, even practical, many of them seemed can be packed up like windbreakers.

The final looks were sheer, floor-length gowns with ruffles, puffed sleeves, and high necks. Despite their volume, they didn’t feel fragile. The models walked fast, and the dresses moved with them.

Accessories were consistent across all looks too with chunky gold earrings, large sunglasses, and pointy heels.

The front row matched the scale of the production. The queen herself, Madonna, Hailey Bieber, Zoë Kravitz, Rosé from BLACKPINK, and Charli XCX were among the many guests. Longtime Saint Laurent muses like Catherine Deneuve and Kate Moss were also present. And Bella Hadid’s return to the runway was one of the night’s most talked-about moments
