Caloy Yulo’s incentives keep piling up and we can’t keep up anymore!

On top of the condominium unit , Caloy will now drive his own SUV, will have his own weekend homes in Tagaytay and Nasugbu, and more monetary and other gifts that keep piling up—all of which he so richly deserves.

Since we last reported on what two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Edriel “Caloy” Yulo would receive as incentives for his historic win at the 2024 Paris Olympics, our diminutive champion has amassed even more than what was initially predicted.

On top of the condominium unit, Caloy now will drive his own SUV, will have his own weekend homes in Tagaytay and Nasugbu, on top of the monetary incentives and other gifts that keep piling up—all of which he so richly deserves.

Let’s look at our sports hero’s incentive haul so far—which, I daresay, could get longer still.

Three-bedroom condo unit

Last Wednesday, August 14, Caloy officially received his P32-million fully furnished three-bedroom condominium unit from property giant Megaworld Corporation.

In a statement, the company said it decided to gift Caloy with a unit that has a contemporary interior design, which features “generous hues of gold” to reflect the Olympian’s historic feat at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The 100-square-meter unit is already equipped with basic home appliances such as a refrigerator, microwave oven, four-burner cooktop with oven, four smart televisions, and a game console. Looks like Caloy won’t be needing to visit an appliance center anytime soon!

As an added flourish, Caloy’s unit comes with a coffee table designed like an Olympic gold medal.

On top of the luxury condominium unit with a dedicated parking slot, Megaworld also pledged to give the first Filipino gymnastics world champion a P3-million cash incentive in recognition of his sensational Olympic feat.

Caloy has also been gifted properties outside of Metro Manila. Century Properties Group will be giving him a house and lot in Nasugbu, Batangas, while the Philippine Sports Commission will be gifting him a property in Tagaytay.

Luxury SUV

To complement his posh condo unit (and that enviable parking space!), Toyota Philippines has gifted Caloy with the latest model of the Land Cruiser Prado. The luxury SUV can seat seven passengers and was officially launched in the Philippines just last month. Equipped with more cutting-edge features, the new Prado costs P4.8 million, over a million more than the previous model, with some resellers pricing it at P7 million.

But perhaps, even more meaningful than the SUV gift is Toyota saying it is looking forward to working with Caloy on his chosen advocacy: food security, specifically for underprivileged children.

Cha-ching! A slew of monetary incentives

The cash rewards have also been pouring in for our dear Caloy. There’s the P20 million from the Office of the President, and the same amount as mandated by Republic Act 10699. The House of Representatives will also be giving the 24-year-old gymnast P14 million. Manila, Caloy’s home city, will be giving its homegrown talent P2 million.

There are also individuals who have pledged cash gifts for Caloy. There’s business magnate and former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson who has offered a P5 million reward. Another sporting legend, Manny Pacquiao, has announced that he will be giving Caloy a monetary gift, the amount, however, the boxer refuses to disclose.

Aside from the P3 million from Megaworld, other companies have also joined in on the gift-giving parade. ArenaPlus has pledged P5 million, while Bounty Fresh is set to give Caloy P3 million.

A lifetime of free airline miles, buffet, pizzas

Our golden boy looks like he will be jet setting the world soon with Philippine Airlines, the country’s flag carrier, gifting him with 150,000 Mabuhay Miles every year for the rest of his life. Cebu Pacific will also be giving him 28 free flights this year.

And the gifts just keep on piling up! Photos from the companies’ Facebook pages

Dining establishments are among those who have been so excited to show their love for Caloy—they sure don’t want our prized gymnast to go hungry! There’s Vikings, of course, and its widely reported free lifetime buffet for Caloy.

Pizza Hut has also promised him a lifetime of free pizzas, as well as free ice cream for life from Dairy Queen. Mang Inasal has also announced that Caloy is entitled to a lifetime of its popular PM2 or pecho meal. Even the now-famous Diwata Pares will be giving Caloy a lifetime of free…erm… pares.

There’s also a lifetime of free Vivamax susbcription (I had to suppress a chuckle as I’m typing this line), a free wedding performance from Moonstar 88, free franchise packages, free colonoscopies and gastroenterology consultations after he turns 45 (the Americans are so envious of these), among many other gifts. We’re pretty sure there will be more.
