Globe is turning data usage and dining into real-world impact

Whether through mobile activity or a restaurant reservation, Globe makes everyday actions opportunities to help others.

Globe Telecom recently launched Globe of Good, a new sustainability platform that brings all of the company’s environmental and social programs under a single name. It aims to make Globe’s long-standing efforts in digital inclusion, environmental action, and community support easier to understand and more accessible to the public.

“This initiative is our commitment to embed sustainability in everything we do, in the way we operate, serve, and lead,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications officer. “We want to make sustainability more relatable and easier for every Filipino to take part in.”

The announcement was made along with two key programs: one focuses on data usage and the other connects fine dining with support for Filipino families facing hunger.

In short, Globe is making it possible to give back just by living your life: scrolling, streaming, or booking a table somewhere nice.

GoGIVE turns mobile data into donations

GoGIVE is a new feature built into the GlobeOne app that lets Globe Prepaid users earn “hearts” every time they use data. These hearts can be donated to partner non-government organizations directly through the app.

“Through GoGIVE, we are transforming data into a force for good,” said Givielle Florida, head of Globe Prepaid. “This platform offers a fresh and convenient way to give back to the community, especially for digital natives.”

The feature runs in the background of everyday mobile use. Customers can stream, browse, and scroll as usual, while the app tracks activity and converts it into a form of donation.

Dining with a purpose through Gastronome Giving

Globe Platinum is also reviving its Gastronome Giving series, a project launched in partnership with Fine Dining Club Philippines. The series runs from June 1 to August 31 and raises funds for the Hapag Movement, Globe’s flagship program aimed at addressing involuntary hunger in the Philippines.

“Gastronome Giving allows us to connect fine dining with purposeful action,” said Mark Pasaylo, head of Globe Platinum. “It demonstrates how different sectors can work together to help address involuntary hunger affecting millions of Filipinos.”

Participating restaurants include Roots in Siargao, Anzani in Cebu, Mrs. Saldo’s in Silang, Taupe in Bonifacio Global City, Goxo in Salcedo Village, and Kasa Palma in Poblacion among others. Globe Platinum customers may book tables at these locations using THEA, Globe’s 24/7 digital assistant.

“It’s a beautiful reminder that what nourishes us is also an opportunity to nourish others,” said Crisanto.

A simpler way to take part

Globe’s sustainability efforts have recently earned recognition from research firm Standard Insights. The firm named Globe the Most Sustainable Mobile Network and the Most Active Mobile Network for the Environment in the Philippines.

With the launch of Globe of Good, the telecom company is offering customers practical ways to engage in its advocacy. May it be through mobile activity or a reservation at a restaurant, it’s positioning everyday actions as opportunities to help others.
