The island’s White Beach draws crowds “for good reasons: soft white sand, turquoise waters, and amazing sunsets” among many others.
Still wondering why you should make a return trip to Boracay? Pack your bags—White Beach has just been named the sixth best beach in Asia. The island’s 4-kilometer-long crescent of powdery white sand lined with resorts, restaurants, and bars bagged the sixth spot in TripAdvisor’s list of Best of the Best Beaches on the region.
Announced on Feb. 17, 2026, the online travel platform’s annual Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best list recognizes destinations that receive a high volume of outstanding reviews and ratings from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period. This places TripAdvisor among the top one percent of listings worldwide, while its recent commendation of Boracay’s White Beach as the sixth best beach in Asia reinforces the Philippines’ status as a world-class tropical destination.

Recognized for its powdery shoreline and vibrant coastal scene, White Beach stands out as Boracay’s most iconic stretch. In its citation, Tripadvisor described the destination as a beach that “draws a crowd for good reasons: soft white sand, turquoise waters, and amazing sunsets. It’s a great place to swim and snorkel, and when you’ve worked up an appetite, lots of local dining and drinking joints are just steps away.”
Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco celebrates the recognition that affirms Boracay’s global appeal while citing its deeper significance to the lives supported by tourism. “More than the recognition, what truly matters are the lives sustained through tourism,” the tourism chief said in a press release. “Behind every award are thousands of Filipino workers—our boatmen, hotel staff, tour guides, transport operators, and micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs, whose livelihoods depend on a thriving and sustainable tourism industry.”
