The Marrakech-founded coffee house is set to launch its signature 100 percent Arabica coffee selection and heritage-driven concept.
The opening is a signal of Bacha Coffee’s continued expansion across Asia, following strong growth in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Japan, China, South Korea, and several Middle Eastern markets. And just last year in Paris, France.

From a Moroccan palace to a global coffee brand
Bacha Coffee was founded in 1910 inside Dar el Bacha, a historic palace in Marrakech. The coffee room was known as a gathering place for cultural and political figures during the early 20th century.
After being closed for more than six decades, the palace was restored and reopened in 2017 as the Museum of Cultural Confluences. The Bacha Coffee Room & Boutique was relaunched as part of that restoration, preserving its original identity.

The brand’s modern growth is led by V3 Gourmet, the same parent company behind TWG Tea. Under CEO Taha Bouqdib, Bacha Coffee opened its first international location in Singapore in 2019. Since then, it has scaled rapidly across Asia and the Middle East, with a major European push underway, including a flagship on Champs-Élysées in Paris. That being said, the company has stated its goal of establishing a presence in major world capitals by 2030.

Why Bacha Coffee has gained strong demand across Asia
Bacha Coffee is known for its wide range of 100 percent Arabica varieties, its traditional pour-over service, and its strong retail and gifting presence across Asia.
The brand serves Arabica specialty coffees sourced from more than 35 coffee-producing countries. Its catalog includes over 200 varieties, ranging from single-origin harvests to blended, flavored, and naturally decaffeinated options. This extensive selection positions the brand as a global coffee library.

Preparation is another key differentiator. Instead of centering on espresso machines, Bacha emphasizes manual pour-over brewing. Coffee is served in traditional pots, reinforcing its identity as a coffee house concept rooted in heritage.
The brand’s distinctive orange tins and gold-accented packaging have made it a strong gifting product, particularly in Singapore, where takeaway and packaged coffee drive consistent foot traffic. This combination of dine-in experience and premium retail has helped Bacha scale across multiple markets.
In a 2024 interview with CNA Luxury, CEO Taha Bouqdib said Bacha Coffee achieved profitability in 2023, reporting S$95.5 million in revenue and S$2.2 million in profit after tax.
What we can expect from the first Bacha Coffee store in PH
The first Bacha Coffee store in the Philippines is set to open soon, with Ayala Malls teasing a stall format in Greenbelt. Based on what has been shared, the initial setup appears to focus on retail and takeaway rather than a full cafe experience.
We can expect a strong emphasis on packaged coffee and gift-ready selections, similar to its boutiques across Asia. The brand’s signature orange tins and gold-accented boxes have made it a popular pasalubong item for Filipino travelers.
For those who have tried it abroad, the appeal is easy to understand. On a recent trip to Hong Kong, I ended up spending the last of my Hong Kong dollars on a cup and a few packs to bring home. It felt indulgent, but worth it.

For now, Bacha Coffee has launched a pop-up at Greenbelt 3 ahead of its permanent Philippine store. The pop-up offers a limited selection of coffees, available in one size and priced at P399 per variant, whether hot or iced and do take note that payments are cashless.
With its Manila launch, customers will no longer need to fly to neighboring SG just to restock or pick up a gift set. An official opening date for the permanent stall is expected to be announced soon.
