Madame Tussauds HK is giving away round-trip tickets to South Korea to fans with the best videos of their own K-drama moment with Hyun Bin’s wax figure.

Hallyu fans definitely have more reasons to fly to Hong Kong, as the wax figure of Hallyu superstar Hyun Bin has finally arrived at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. .

The South Korean heartthrob is now within reach for his global fans, thanks to his wax figure, which is now part of the museum’s K-Wave Zone, which features representations of the hottest K-pop and K-drama stars in the K-entertainment industry. According to Madame Tussauds, the South Korean acting icon was chosen to be recognized at the museum for his illustrious career that spans over two decades.

Hyun Bin first gained stardom for his roles in K-dramas like My Lovely Sam Soon and Secret Garden. In 2019, he shot to global fame after making hearts swoon as Ri Jeong-hyeok in Crash Landing on You, one of the highest-rated shows in Korean cable TV history. His portrayal also won him several awards including the Baeksang Arts Awards for Most Popular Actor and the Grand Prize at the APAN Star Awards.

Although Hyun Bin is well known for changing his look to match his roles, his likeness portrays him in his natural state, looking dashing in a sophisticated grey suit. With his right hand tucked in his pocket, the actor’s figure exudes every bit of the gentleman he is in real life. To liven up his fans’ experience further, the wax work is placed in a street scene resembling Myeongdeong. When they approach the figure, they will be able to hear the actor’s heartbeat getting louder, as if meeting him in a romantically charged K-drama scene.

To celebrate the unveiling of Hyun Bin’s wax figure, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong has also launched a giveaway contest that fans will definitely enjoy. Visitors are encouraged to reenact their own K-drama moment with Hyun Bin’s wax figure and to share the video on their own social media pages. The winning participants will be rewarded with a pair of round-trip tickets to South Korea, sponsored by Hong Kong Airlines.

The Korean experience doesn’t stop there, because Madame Tussauds Hong Kong has teamed up with the Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong to offer K-fans a truly immersive visit for a year. They kickstarted the partnership with the “Hanbok Experience” this September wherein guests get to choose a Hanbok to wear as they take photos with the figures of their favorite Korean idols and actors, including Hyun Bin.

Complete the South Korean experience by dressing up in a Hanbok when posing beside Hyun Bin’s figure in Madame Tussauds Hong Kong.

“As the world’s largest collection of Korean celebrity wax figures, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong has always tried to embrace the growing popularity of Korean pop culture and enhance our position as a must-visit destination for K-Pop fans and cultural enthusiasts,” said Wade Chang, General Manager of Merlin Entertainments Hong Kong. “Through the partnership with the Korean Cultural Center, we will now also be able to bring more ever-evolving and trendy elements to visitors, and elevate their overall experience.”

Hyun Bin’s wax figure is now available for interactive viewing at Madame Tussauds located inside The Peak Tower in Hong Kong. While you’re at it, you can also pose with other Korean stars, including Si-won Choi, Kim Soo-Hyun, Lee Jong-Suk, Suzy Bae, and Yim Siwan.

In similar news, Madame Tussauds Singapore has recently unveiled its wax figure of global Filipino icon Lea Salonga. The Broadway star’s figure has been available for viewing at the museum since Sept. 20. Read about it here.
