Hitting Netflix this August, it’s packed with more mystery, more monsters, and way more family drama.
Wednesday Addams is returning to Nevermore Academy—and this time, her entire family is coming with her.
Netflix just dropped the first teaser for Wednesday Season 2, and it’s exactly the spooky, chaotic energy you’d expect. The new season will roll out in two parts: Part 1 arrives August 6, and Part 2 follows on September 3.

The trailer opens with Wednesday at airport security, casually pulling weapons out of her pockets like it’s no big deal. (Brass knuckles, flail, machete… the essentials.) But it’s Thing’s sunscreen that really sets off the alarm. From there, it’s straight back to Nevermore, where the school looks familiar but nothing feels the same.
Season 2 brings a big shift. Wednesday’s little brother Pugsley is now also a student at Nevermore, which means she’s forced to deal with him on campus. Morticia and Gomez are sticking around too, much to Wednesday’s horror.

New characters, new chaos?
New characters are also stepping in. Steve Buscemi joins as Nevermore’s new principal, and Joanna Lumley plays Hester Frump—Morticia’s mother, who quickly becomes Wednesday’s closest ally. We also get more of Enid (Emma Myers), Bianca (Joy Sunday), and Tyler (Hunter Doohan), who’s still very much in the picture… and still very much a monster.

Same Wednesday, new chaos
According to the showrunners, Wednesday thinks she knows how Nevermore works now. She doesn’t. There are new secrets, creepy dolls, weird powers, and enough twists to keep even Wednesday guessing. “She thinks she’s going to be in control,” co-creator Miles Millar said. “She doesn’t.”
Jenna Ortega is back as the sharp, sarcastic Wednesday and this season, she’s also producing. Yes, Jenna not only returns as Wednesday but she’s also working behind the camera. “The most exciting thing is being able to revisit her,” Jenna said. “Wednesday Addams is one of the coolest characters of all time, so to have gotten the opportunity to play her once was incredible, and then to be able to slip into the costume and tone again, it’s so much fun. She runs circles around everyone she has a conversation with, so to play someone who’s so much more intelligent than you will ever be, it’s quite funny and strange and enjoyable.”

Double trouble
This time, Netflix is splitting the season in half to build hype. It’s the same strategy they used for Stranger Things and Bridgerton, and it works especially for shows with big fanbases and bigger cliffhangers.
So if you thought Season 1 was wild, buckle up because Season 2 is darker, weirder, and full of surprises. Catch Part 1 of Wednesday on August 6, only on Netflix. Part 2 lands September 3.
