Wes Gordon’s spring 2025 collection for Carolina Herrera opened with a crisp black-and-white palette, highlighting the brand’s signature structure and volume. Models showcased sharp suiting and dresses that balanced the house’s traditional elegance with modern touches. Clean white shifts adorned with oversized rosettes and tailored black jackets featuring rococo embroidery celebrated Herrera’s timeless aesthetic, while looser shirting paired with capris gave a nod to casual chic.
Polka dots became a recurring theme, appearing on everything from flowy dresses to sleek blouses. Gordon’s play with this classic pattern, sometimes paired with florals or bold checks, kept the collection lively. The restrained color palette allowed details like embroidery and dramatic rosettes to take center stage, adding depth and texture to the designs.
As the show progressed, bursts of vibrant color came into play. Yellow, fuchsia, and red lit up the runway, transforming the more traditional black-and-white looks into something youthful and dynamic. Bare midriffs, cutouts, and bold prints brought a fresh, modern twist to Herrera’s signature ladylike elegance, while still retaining its sense of sophistication.
One standout piece—a polka-dotted dress with oversized floral prints—embodied the playful yet refined spirit of the collection. In the final looks, vivid yellow gowns that closed the show with a punch of color, paired with black for a dramatic contrast.
To tie it all together, each guest found a pink rose and a Georgia O’Keeffe quote on their seats: “I found that I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say in any other way.”
For spring 2025, Gordon honored the brand’s history while adding a youthful energy, showing that Carolina Herrera remains both timeless and adaptable.
