DeMellier’s pre-spring 2025 capsule is all about power, purpose, and soft-structured elegance

For Pre-Spring 2025, DeMellier brings power, purpose, and soft-structured elegance to the city, with its new line of ethically and sustainably made handbags designed to make women feel empowered. 

Strong, functional silhouettes and a commitment to craftsmanship set the collection apart, which includes The Hudson and The New York Shoulder in both new and classic tones, evoking a sense of formality tempered by relaxed ease and modernity.

It debuted with a magnetic and photographic film captured by Umit Savaci at the iconic Leadenhall Building, featuring Ajah Angau Jok against a captivating view of London’s Financial District. The the clean, architectural lines of the setting complement the softness and sophistication of each design in the lineup.

“There’s a real sense of aspiration and strength that permeates this collection. Against the glass, steel and significance of London’s skyline, it shows the power and femininity of the DeMellier woman,” DeMellier founder and creative director Mireia Llusia-Lindh said in a press release.

The Hudson bag seamlessly combines style and function, featuring all the hallmarks of DeMellier’s iconic New York family: hand-folded gussets, beautiful gold belted hardware, and luxurious gold-rated Italian leathers.

Subtle newness is introduced in this everyday bag through curved top edges and distinct, capacious proportions, ensuring true day-to-night versatility without compromising sophistication. Designed for effortless wear, The Hudson can be carried in hand, under the arm, over the shoulder, or as a crossbody.

The New York Shoulder is a directional, fashion-forward style with a unique elongated silhouette and statement carry handles, brought to life by a contemporary spirit. Not only does it complement any look, but it also meets the practical demands of carrying daily essentials.

A standout piece for the new season, it features signature details from the New York collection and is crafted from sustainable Italian leathers, available in both lizard-effect and small-grain finishes.

With a curated selection of sustainable materials and a timeless color palette of black, tan, and off-white, this season introduces a new caramel tone in smooth gold-rated Italian leather and suede. Additionally, signature styles welcome lizard-effect in both gray and black—a bold, vintage-inspired printed leather specially developed for DeMellier in Tuscany, Italy.

All DeMellier pieces are handcrafted at its factories in Europe, using the finest sustainably sourced materials. Its leathers are all gold and silver-rated by the Leather Working Group and are a by-product of the food industry that would otherwise go to waste.

Giving back—to Mother Earth and humanity alike—is at the core of the DeMellier DNA. That is why for every purchase of its bag, a portion goes to its “A Bag, A Life” initiative that provide lifesaving vaccines and medical treatments for children in need. Built in partnership with SOS Children’s Villages, the project has so far funded over 1,000,000 vaccines to the organization.
