Eternal love finds its form in Francis Libiran’s gorgeous bridal gowns

Libiran’s “Inspired Beginnings 2025” at Conrad Manila was a celebration of beauty, meaning and romance.

Eternal love is built on a lasting promise and the everyday choices we make. When paired with the artistry of Filipino craftsmanship, that love takes tangible form: in the sweep of a bridal gown, the detail of a lace appliqué, the careful styling of a ceremony made unforgettable. It’s in these expressions of beauty and meaning that romance becomes timeless.

This spirit of enduring commitment came alive at Conrad Manila, where “Inspired Beginnings 2025”— a two-day showcase that brought together the country’s leading designers, stylists, and wedding experts—unfolded as a celebration of love stories written not just in vows, but in design, detail, and devotion.

Conrad Manila’s “Inspired Beginnings 2025” featured Francis Libiran on the first day of the the bridal showcase.

A triumphant finale for Francis Libiran and his brides

The event was headlined by visionary fashion designer Francis Libiran, renowned for his stunning couture creations—from dramatic red carpet gowns to ethereal bridal ensembles.

Francis was formally trained in architecture at the University of Santo Tomás before studying at the Fashion Institute of the Philippines, which might explain his eye for precision. The designer rose to international prominence when his Hello Kitty Couture Collection was featured on America’s Next Top Model: British Invasion in April 2012. His standout designs caught the eye of supermodel and ANTM judge Tyra Banks, who went on to wear his creations on numerous red carpet occasions, earning “Best Dressed” accolades along the way.

Shortly before his show “Inspired Beginnings,” distinguished Filipina soprano Rachelle Gerodias walked the runway clad in a custom butterfly-sleeved crimson gown by Libiran and performed Un Bel di Vedremo, a famous aria from Giacomo Puccini’s 1904 opera Madama Butterfly, setting the tone for what the audience was in for.

Libiran’s latest couture bridal collection, called “Devoción,” takes its name from the Spanish word for devotion—a nod not only to romantic commitment but also to his own unwavering passion for impeccable technique and his undeniable imprint on his creations.

“Devoción” is bridalwear reimagined, a meditation on enduring love. The runway unfolded like a love letter, each gown representing brides of different personalities and aesthetics. There were gowns that were bold in shape for the adventurous, some made ornate with embroidery and lace for the traditional, and others constructed with structural and severe silhouettes for the modern bride.

To the untrained eye, it seemed like a chaotic mish-mash of garments but everything was made cohesive by romantic femininity and the impeccable craftsmanship of Libiran.

After the show, Libiran emerged on the runway to rapturous applause. Warm and effusive, the sharply dressed designer graciously received bouquets of fresh flowers, made small talk with reporters, friends, and fans.

Among the designers on the second day were (above) Nat Manilag and (below) Manny Halasan.

The second day culminated in a grand runway finale directed by Robby Carmona, spotlighting the work of celebrated Filipino designers Rian Fernandez, Manny Halasan, Nat Manilag, Ehrran Montoya, Val Taguba, Vee Tan, and Ryan Ablaza Uson. Each collection brought a distinct narrative to life, merging contemporary elegance with bold silhouettes and fresh perspectives on bridal fashion.

Adding depth and dimension to the experience, top event stylists transformed the venue with art-inspired tablescapes—a tribute to Philippine visual arts and creativity. The installations included styling by Blooms Events by Allen & JP, honoring Arturo Luz; Ginger Gaddi, inspired by Olivia d’Aboville; Randy Lazaro, reflecting the work of HR Ocampo; Drew Menor, channeling Fernando Amorsolo; Dave Sandoval, celebrating Mauro Malang Santos; Tiger Lim, interpreting Lizanne Uychaco; FJ Sionson, embracing the visual depth of Mark Justiniani; and Kathy Sy-King, highlighting Impy Pilapil’s organic glass sculptures.

With exclusive trunk shows, bespoke consultations, and immersive design showcases, “Inspired Beginnings 2025” reaffirmed Conrad Manila’s place at the forefront of the luxury wedding scene. It was a declaration of love, a tribute to Filipino artistry, and a vision of how modern romance can be expressed through beauty, detail, and devotion.
