Ralph Lauren Fall 2025 brings back big pants and soft layers

“There is a woman who I am inspired by,” Ralph Lauren wrote in the show notes. “She changes her look as her mood changes… her style is never about the latest. It’s always about who she is—personal and timeless.”

For his Fall 2025 show, he skipped the usual runways and took over a gallery in downtown New York. It was a grand, gold-trimmed space with high ceilings and marble stairs big enough to match the collection’s energy, but small enough to feel personal. And that’s what this collection is about: women dressing for themselves.

“There is a woman who I am inspired by,” Lauren said in his show notes. “She loves dressing in unexpected ways… her style is never about the latest, it’s always about who she is—personal and timeless.”

The main highlight of the show was the return of wide-leg pants. These were often pleated and tucked into tall leather boots. Some pants were made from wool, others from leather, giving each look a slightly different feel. Most were paired with white shirts that had ruffled or lace collars, styled under sweaters, jackets, or coats.

The color palette was mostly black, white, camel, and brown, with a few looks in dark purple. Instead of heavy prints or flashy details, the collection focused on texture like velvet, lace, leather, and silk were layered to create contrast.

There were also strong evening looks. These included long skirts, shirt dresses with lace, and halter dresses in velvet. One standout was a hand-beaded floral sweater, which is a nod to a design from an older Ralph Lauren campaign back in the ’80s.

The accessories were also practical, something you can wear over and over and alternate with other clothes too. And a new satchel, inspired by Lauren’s car collection, added a practical edge. Each outfit looked wearable and comfortable but still polished.

The show ended with Lauren himself stepping onto the gallery’s mezzanine in a black longhorn sweater, waving to the crowd.
