Justin Timberlake and Nike tee off with limited-edition golf shoe collab

The pop icon is taking a swing at golf fashion with Nike shoes limited to just 1,981 pairs.

’90s boy band heartthrob turned pop icon Justin Timberlake is bringing sexy back, not in concert stadiums or the airwaves, but in tournament golf courses. The NSYNC star is taking a swing at golf fashion with a super limited-edition collaboration with Nike.

The pair, dubbed “Justin Timberlake x Nike Victory Tour 4 Raggio Di Sole,” is a premium version of one of Nike’s top golf shoes and combines the musician’s love for sneakers and the fairway. The shoe adds luxury to Nike’s Victory Tour 4 kicks, as it is specially produced in Montebelluna, Italy, and is limited to just 1,981 pairs—a nod to Timberlake’s birth year.

It’s a piece that speaks to music, sneakers, and golf enthusiasts all together, with Nike’s comfort- and quality-first craftsmanship and Timberlake’s personal flair. This is evident in the upper, which is constructed from a mix of tumbled leather, smooth leather, and suede for a sleek, textured look. It is dressed in soft Oatmeal tones that add sophistication to the premium golf shoe.

True to Timberlake’s style and energy on the course, the Victory Tour 4 Raggio Di Sole is jazzed up with Hot Lava and Pink Tint accents that incorporate pops of color into the clean base. This includes the pink trim on the Swoosh and the tongue branding, which features the Italian phrase “Raggio di sole.”

The phrase, which translates to “ray of the sun” in English, serves as one of the shoe’s main highlights. It gives the shoe its name and infuses the pair with the feeling of warmth and energy. Meanwhile, Montebelluna, where the shoe and other select Nike products are made, is stamped on the heel and the pair’s customized packaging.

Timberlake continues to bring the beat into the interior. The cork insoles, for one, come with a playful pattern depicting coffee mug stains (as they say, golf and coffee go perfectly together). There’s also a tag behind the tongue that has Timberlake’s signature and birth year to add to the shoe’s exclusive vibe.

The musician and Nike are taking the collaboration to the next level by shipping each pair in a custom box along with two pairs of matching socks. That’s not all, the pair’s price is set to $500 (P28,415), which is double the $210 price of the regular Victory Tour 4.

Although surprising, Timberlake and Nike’s collaboration on the Victory Tour 4 makes total sense, as the duo has already teamed up for two pairs of Air Jordan 3s in 2018. The first of which debuted ahead of the pop icon’s Super Bowl Halftime performance.

The Nike Victory Tour 4 was meanwhile worn by Masters winners Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler last weekend, prior to the brand’s announcement of the Justin Timberlake x Nike Victory 4 “Raggio Di Sole.” The collectible pair is slated for release on April 18 through Nike’s website.
