This limited-edition watch collection is as rare as the Philippine bird it’s helping to protect

Inspired by the rare Whiskered Pitta of the Philippine rainforests, Seiko’s 5th Philippine Limited Edition collection merges elegance with a commitment to preserving nature’s beauty.

Deep in the rainforests of Luzon, the Whiskered Pitta moves through the shadows, almost like a secret. Brightly colored and rarely seen, it’s one of the Philippines’ most elusive birds. This year, Seiko has turned this rare bird into inspiration for its 5th Philippine Limited Edition watch, a design that’s as meaningful as it is beautiful.

A rare watch for a rare bird

Just like the Whiskered Pitta, this watch is rare. Only 1,288 pieces will ever be made, making it a true collector’s item. Its 39.5mm stainless steel case is simple yet durable, with features designed for both practicality and style. The rotating compass inner ring, 200-meter water resistance, and LumiBrite hands ensure it’s ready for adventure, while the calfskin strap and anti-reflective sapphire crystal add an elegant finish.

Inside, Seiko’s 6R35 automatic movement keeps it ticking with a 70-hour power reserve. It’s built to last, but what makes this watch truly special is the story it carries.

A forest in every timepiece

Each purchase of the Whiskered Pitta watch helps Seiko plant a tree in the Sierra Madre, the natural home of the bird. In partnership with FEED (Fostering Education & Environment for Development, Inc.), Seiko supports reforestation efforts to restore the rainforest while helping local communities.

So far, more than 1,150 trees have been planted, with native species like Kamagong, Lipote, and Malaruhat chosen to enrich the ecosystem. Each tree planted is trackable online through EcoMatcher, letting buyers see exactly where their contribution is making an impact.

More than a watch

This is more than just a timepiece. It’s a way to connect with the natural world and help protect it. By blending craftsmanship with conservation, Seiko has created something meaningful—a watch that looks good and does good.

Available now for preorder at Seiko boutiques and select dealers in the Philippines, the Whiskered Pitta watch is priced at P54,000. With only 1,288 units, it’s a piece of nature, and time, you don’t want to miss.

The new lifestyle.
