Smart offers free streaming of the games, while those with Cignal TV subscription have several platforms to choose from.
The 2024 Paris Olympics is but a breath away.
As our country celebrates 100 years of participation in the world’s biggest sporting spectacle, our flag is proudly represented by 22 athletes, each one working hard and dreaming big in hopes of bringing home Olympic glory.
Fun fact: it was runner David Nepomuceno who was the first Filipino to qualify for the Olympics, participating in the 1924 Games, also held in the City of Lights.
If you can’t go to Paris to cheer on Team Philippines, you can scream your lungs out in the comfort of your home—beer in one hand, a slice of pizza in another, and a bucket of popcorn on your lap.
Our contingent is led by returning Olympians: world number 2 pole vaulter EJ Obiena, bemedalled gymnast Carlos Yulo, and Olympic-medalist boxers Nesthy Petecio, Carlo Paalam, and Eumir Marcial. We had a stellar run in the Tokyo Games, with our athletes taking home a historic haul of one gold, two silvers, and one bronze.
This year, we hope to replicate—and even exceed—our last Olympic outing.
With the Olympics opening less than two weeks from now, scheduled from July 26 to August 11, it’s good to know how you can watch the games at home (or maybe in a sports bar with dozens of other screaming fans).
Smart offers not just live but free streaming of the Olympics to subscribers of all networks through the Smart LiveStream App. The app is scheduled to broadcast the games 24/7, with select events also to be streamed live on the Smart Sports and Puso Pilipinas social media pages.
Basketball-crazy Pinoys can catch basketball action as Team USA, led by NBA superstars LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant, shoots for a fifth straight gold.
The volleyball competitions will also be streamed, with fan favorites USA and Japan slugging it out with the rest of the field.
If you’re a Cignal TV subscriber, then lady luck is on your side as the cable service provider is set to broadcast the 2024 Paris Olympics on several channels and platforms. In anticipation of the games, Cignal TV and the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) have joined forces for the official launch of “Isang Daang Taon Laban Para sa Bayan: Celebrating 100 Years of Filipino Excellence in the Olympics,” as per a report on One News PH.
Cignal TV will broadcast the 2024 Paris Olympics coverage on different MediaQuest platforms, including Cignal TV’s free-to-air and pay-per-view television. Its digital broadcasts of this event will be on OneSports, One News, and News5.
It will not only broadcast the games, however, as it will also chronicle our athletes’ journey from preparations and training to their actual competitions, and the aftermath of their performance.
The POST will keep you posted once more specific schedules come in!
