Inspired by the late monarch’s wardrobe, the limited-edition pieces arrive alongside Buckingham Palace’s largest-ever fashion exhibition
Burberry has unveiled a new capsule collection created in collaboration with the Royal Collection Trust, marking the centenary of Queen Elizabeth II’s birth.
The collaboration reflects the house’s long-standing relationship with the late monarch, who wore Burberry throughout her reign and granted the brand a Royal Warrant in 1955. Known for her practical yet polished approach to dressing, the Queen often turned to Burberry for outdoor pursuits, a sensibility that informs the new collection through signature outerwear and Scottish-woven cashmere.

The capsule also coincides with Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style, set to open this April at The King’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace. The exhibition will feature Burberry designs worn by the Queen, alongside other pieces from her wardrobe.
A capsule rooted in heritage and the outdoors
At the centre of the collection is a belted car coat, a style frequently worn by Queen Elizabeth II. The piece is crafted in Castleford, Yorkshire from lightweight cotton gabardine in a holly green shade, woven with contrasting yarns to create a subtle iridescent finish. It is made using certified organic cotton and finished with an organic silk lining.
A new colourway of the Burberry House Check has also been developed for the capsule. Rendered in the same holly green palette, it draws from the Old Stewart Tartan once worn by the Queen. The pattern appears across several pieces, including the lining of the car coat, a Scottish-woven cashmere scarf, and the border of a silk twill scarf.
The silk scarf features a hand-painted illustration of Balmoral Castle, the Royal Family’s residence in the Scottish Highlands. The collection is completed with a gold-plated brooch shaped like a corgi wearing an enamelled check coat, finished with the Burberry Knight motif set on a freshwater pearl.

A closer look at the Queen’s enduring style
Opening on April 10, Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style will be the largest exhibition of the late monarch’s wardrobe to date.
Spanning ten decades, the exhibition traces her evolution from childhood through her years as Princess and into her historic reign. It highlights both her off-duty dressing and the looks worn during key moments on the world stage.
Burberry features as part of this narrative, with three pieces included in the exhibition: a hooded riding cape from around 2010, an original invoice for a Burberry coat ordered in 1966, and a Burberry Check silk scarf from 2013.

In total, around 200 items from the Queen’s wardrobe will be on display, many for the first time. Alongside garments, the exhibition includes jewellery, hats, shoes, and accessories, as well as archival materials such as design sketches, fabric swatches, and handwritten correspondence that offer insight into the process behind her wardrobe.
The capsule launches alongside the exhibition, bringing together Burberry’s heritage and the Queen’s enduring influence on British style in one focused release.
