October is Museums and Galleries Month: What to expect

Keep abreast of the activities and festivities this month.

Leading the festivities is the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, which opened the month with a simple ceremony at the National Museum of Fine Arts on October 1.

Guided by the theme “Exhibits and Reflections: Crafting Opportunities for the New World,” this year’s #MGM2023 highlights the role of these artistic and cultural institutions as an avenue for people to make sense of humanity, especially after the extraordinary circumstances of years past.

As stated in Proclamation No. 798 by President Corazon Aquino on September 12, 1991, the month is also geared toward strengthening national consciousness and pride through all forms of art that showcase our rich culture and identity.

Check out some of the activities set to take place this month. Make sure to check back every now and then for updates!

This activity is open to the public, and only 60 slots will be accommodated. More details, including schedules for other activities, may be accessed via the National Museum’s Facebook page.
