Spruce Gallery puts power back in print

Offering a respite from the digital noise, the Ortigas-based space carries foreign titles, monographs, zines, and other print materials.

Print lovers will rejoice at the sight of the newly opened Spruce Gallery, an Ortigas-based shop specializing in foreign titles (think Vogue, Monocle, and Wallpaper), indie publications like Popeye and Sablos, and more gems ready to be discovered on paper.

Founded by Ric Gindap and Bonnapart Galeng, Spruce aims to champion independent and authentic voices not only in publishing, but also in the art world. Aside from zines and original works across the region, the gallery will also host rotating art exhibitions.

“In a riotous era dominated by relentless digital noise, superficial bombardments, and fleeting online content, magazines are all the more important because they offer a refuge of respite and intimacy,” says Spruce in their official LinkedIn account.

“We believe in the power of independent magazines, zines, and monographs. Our mission is to inspire creative osmosis, cultivate a devoted and discerning community of magazine lovers, and provide a curated crucible of personal, creative indulgence,” they add.
