Here’s why we’re loving Furla’s minimalist fall-winter collection

The brand’s new offerings are an inspired ode to the Italian architecture of the ‘50s, and a tribute to Furla’s roots.

Quiet luxury versus outright opulence? This seems to be a big battle in the world of fashion and style nowadays. Logo mania and big name brands emblazoned across all sorts of clothing and accessories, bags included, seem to be de rigueur.  We’ve all espied celebrities around the world dressed in what are obviously designer brands with logos to match, after all.

Then again, there are those that espouse a toned-down elegance with understated and functional designer pieces of the highest quality. This movement towards restraint is almost a relief after a constant and dizzying display of branded sartorial choices.

So it was with a sense of freedom and newness that we witnessed the unveiling of Furla’s minimalist and ultra-chic fall-winter 2023 collection. The brand’s latest offerings are an inspired ode to the Italian architecture of the ‘50s, and a tribute to Furla’s roots expressed through Italian palaces and gardens. These are translated in clean, essential lines and soft fine leathers, which help convey the brand’s DNA, as well as elegant fall colors, from a purplish Chianti to a refined aura lilac.

There’s so much more to love about Furla’s latest collection aside from its impeccable quality and artisanal details. Let us count the ways:

1. Fashionable and functional

Furla's Giove bag

With the modern woman in mind, Furla’s fall-winter collection features bags that can be worn in different ways. Like the Giove bag that comes in four sizes plus adjustable and interchangeable handles. One can even do a bit of layering with the color-contrasting 1927 mini crossbody to add a stamp of personality.

2. The pop of color we need

For those who are looking to add a touch of color to their wardrobe, this purplish Chianti Flow mini crossbody bag is a smart choice. Made of smooth calf-skin leather, the sleek lines and rich color of this tote can elevate any everyday look.

3. Teeny tiny purses that fit more than just lipstick

The search for that perfect mini bag that can cross over from day to night and fit most essentials has finally come to an end. Furla’s iconic 1927 debuts in a brand new crossbody bag in soft quilted Nappa leather and comes in a more compact camera case crossbody. A reinterpretation of a design from the 90’s archives, there’s also the more modern, sculptural Unica Furla mini crossbody to choose from. The best part? Both can easily fit a phone, lipstick and credit card.

4. Logo mania—but make it sustainable

A representation of the arch at the entrance of Fondazione Furla in Bologna, Furla’s logo tastefully adorns this Opportunity tote and what’s considered to be the ultimate shopping bag. In a bid towards sustainability, the cactus-colored version is made from recycled jacquard fabric that reveals the multicolored logo in tones of green.

5. Understated details to stand the test of time

Quiet little details that elevate overall design are evident in Furla’s latest collection. The black hardware used for some of the bags, for one, helps to create a subtle, timeless look that’s sure to last through the seasons. The Unica Furla tote, and Furla Flow top handle, both with black hardware on black leather, are definitely two of our most classic picks.
