Here’s what to expect from the legendary New York City steakhouse.
The stage is set and the lights are up at the newest Wolfgang’s Steakhouse in the Philippines, which was recently launched at the just-opened Gateway Mall 2 in the heart of Araneta City.
The first Wolfgang’s Steakhouse in this side of the metro and the second grill concept of the brand (following the success of its predecessor in City of Dreams Manila), it promises to offer fun and casual dining dishes alongside their premium aged steaks.
Their fifth branch in the Philippines is cleverly situated right by the driveway of Smart Araneta Coliseum’s red gate near one of the entrances to Gateway Mall. This makes it not only accessible to pre-gaming sports aficionados and thrill-seeking concert goers, but also to the chauffeured glam set that frequents the restaurant in any of their 50-plus branches all over the world.
While its mall location immediately gives it a more casual vibe, its unmistakable dark wood design and old-world charm remind diners of the high level of quality and service they can expect from the brand.
The bar is fully stocked to power either the lunching set, the discerning diner, or the enthusiastic after-show crowd with their refreshing cocktails, premium spirits, and selection of fine wines.
Have the bartender mix you a Green Smoke, which is a mezcal-based concoction enhanced by the fragrant fruitiness of melon, while their passionfruit margarita called Lilikoi is dangerously drinkable.
To accompany the appetizers and steaks, wines from all regions are well represented here, such as a buttery chardonnay from Argentina or a fiery Tempranillo from Spain.
Grill concept
With this grill concept, the diverse menu offers the classic items such as their renowned USDA Prime dry-aged porterhouse steak alongside some fun new offerings like the skirt steak tacos and their hearty Reuben sandwich.
The grilled baby back ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender with a sticky glaze that is not cloyingly sweet, allowing those natural juicy, porky flavors to shine through.
A meal at Wolfgang’s is never complete without their decadent desserts, such as a slice of the NY cheesecake or the key lime pie.
Everyone is truly excited about Wolfgang’s finally making its way to Quezon City, and that includes president and co-founder Peter Zwiener, who shared the limelight with his dapper dad Wolfgang (who gamely sported a barong for the media launch and store blessing) and VP of operations and managing partner Lydia D’Amato, along with local partners Raymund Magdaluyo and Leina Bolinas. Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte was on hand to cut the ceremonial ribbon and to celebrate the arrival of the global brand to her city.
“It is an absolute honor to be able to continue this legacy here at Wolfgang’s Steakhouse in Araneta City,” says Peter Zwiener, President and Co-founder of Wolfgang’s Steakhouse.
“Nothing brings our family more joy than to share this unparalleled dining experience we have all come to enjoy and love to the rest of Metro Manila through this benchmark in Quezon City where the best of sports and entertainment come together in a show of force unlike any other.”
They were welcomed to their new home by Lorna Fabian, VP for leasing of Araneta Group. “The Araneta Group is steadfast in its pursuit of pioneering endeavors that are the first, the biggest, and the best in their class, and with this partnership, which stands to be a first in Quezon city,” she says.
“In our pursuit to create inclusive communities that deliver memorable experiences worth sharing and ultimately, always welcome everyone, we are grateful to take this step forward with Wolfgang’s Steakhouse and grow the food scene in delightful abundance here in Araneta City.”
