The German shoemaker is introducing a way to look after your feet.
You’d easily know a Birkenstock shoe, or “Birks,” when you see one. The brand has remained a favorite of travelers—with its signature comfortable cork-latex footbed—since it was founded by the Birkenstock family way back 1774. Today, the German shoe maker wants to be recognized not only for its iconic Arizona and Madrid styles but as a self-care brand too.
Birkenstock is taking a step into the beauty segment with the launch of its foot care line dubbed “Care Essentials.” Its debut coincides with the heritage brand’s 250th anniversary and is a reflection of its tradition of “enhancing the well-being of the feet.”

Birkenstock CEO Oliver Reichart said that the new products were made not just to expand the brand’s offerings but also to “empower our community to embrace holistic well-being while enabling walking as nature intended.”
“Our collection will speak to individuals who prioritize self-care and mindful living and to the passionate Birkenstock fan who is already familiar with the brand’s values and is seeking products that complement their lifestyle choices,” he continued.
The inaugural body care line is touted as the “perfect skincare routine for your feet” as each of its six products is designed to provide relaxation and exfoliate your soles. Like its shoe collection, Birkenstock’s skincare line is made with quality craftsmanship in Germany. It took the brand years of research to create formulations that are completely vegan and COSMOS Natural certified.
Those looking to give their feet (or the entire body) some tender loving care can start by giving themselves a massage with the Care Essentials Comforting Dry Oil. The certified organic oil is infused with jojoba oil and sesame oil “for long-lasting and intensive nourishment.” After which, you can go for a calming and revitalizing bath with the Relaxing Bath Salts which are made with natural sea salts and a blend of essential oils.
While you’re at it, you can use the Smoothing Pumice Stone, made out of 100 percent recycled glass, to remove dead cells and reduce calluses. There’s also the Exfoliating Foot Scrub with peppermint hydrolate and Rosemary oil that softens the skin and gives back its natural glow.
Lastly, cap off your at-home foot spa treatment with the Nourishing Foot Balm infused with murumuru butter, pomegranate enzyme, and white willow bark extract. Couple that with the Relief Lotion for Tired Leg & Foot to “relieve feelings of heaviness, tension, and fatigue while hydrating your skin.”
The products in Birkenstock’s Care Essentials line range from $25 to $50 and are available in countries like Germany and USA. Availability in the Philippines has yet to be announced.
