Got D23 FOMO? Disney’s biggest fan event is coming to Singapore in 2027!

After a star-studded celebration in California this year, D23 is heading to Southeast Asia for the first time. Here’s what fans need to know.

Are you a Disney fan living in Asia who felt a little FOMO watching all the excitement from D23 in Anaheim, California, last August? Well, here’s some good news: Disney is bringing its biggest fan celebration closer to home.

D23 Asia, The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, will make its Southeast Asian debut in Singapore from June 25 to 27, 2027, bringing three days of exclusive previews, special announcements, interactive experiences, entertainment, and merchandise. And judging by what happened at this year’s D23 in California, there’s plenty to look forward to.

What exactly is D23?

Think of D23 as a huge gathering for anyone who loves Disney, whether you grew up watching its animated classics, follow every Marvel release, or can’t get enough of Pixar and Star Wars. It’s where fans get a closer look at upcoming movies, television shows, and theme park attractions, often before the rest of the world gets to see them.

Beyond the big announcements, D23 is also known for bringing celebrities and filmmakers together with fans through presentations, interactive exhibits, performances, and exclusive shopping experiences.

Launched in 2009, D23 is Disney’s official fan club. The letter D stands for Disney, while 23 refers to 1923, the year Walt Disney opened his first studio in Hollywood.

What happened at D23 in Anaheim this year?

To give you an idea of why fans get excited about D23, its most recent major celebration took place from August 14 to 16, 2026, at the Anaheim Convention Center and Honda Center in California.

And there were quite a few surprises.

Marvel fans were in for a treat as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Hayley Atwell joined Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige onstage at D23 2026 in Anaheim to unveil Avengers: Doomsday.

Marvel fans saw Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Hayley Atwell reunite onstage alongside Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige for a special look at Avengers: Doomsday.

Disney also confirmed that Zootopia 3 is in early development, while Frozen stars Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Josh Gad treated audiences to new music and a first glimpse of the animation from Frozen 3.

But it wasn’t all movie announcements.

Fans explored immersive experiences inspired by Marvel and Star Wars, celebrated Pixar’s 40th anniversary, discovered Disney’s behind-the-scenes archives, and shopped for exclusive collectibles. The event also featured more than 50 panels and presentations, live performances, and the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony, which honored stars including Anne Hathaway and Dwayne Johnson.

In other words, D23 gives fans a chance to experience the worlds they’ve spent years watching on screen.

So what can we expect from D23 Asia?

While Disney hasn’t revealed the full lineup for Singapore just yet, it has confirmed that D23 Asia will feature immersive experiences, exclusive showcases, special announcements, shopping, and live entertainment.

The event will also bring together stars and storytellers from Hollywood and around the world. One highlight that makes this edition particularly interesting is its focus on Asian entertainment.

Disney has confirmed that attendees will get exclusive previews of Asia Pacific original productions for Disney+, along with opportunities to hear directly from the creative teams behind these shows. This means Singapore won’t simply be a repeat of Anaheim. Disney is developing an experience specifically for its Asian audience, combining its globally loved franchises with stories and talent from the region.

Of course, the specific films, shows, celebrities, and attractions appearing at D23 Asia have yet to be announced. So while Anaheim gives us an idea of what a D23 celebration can look like, the Singapore lineup could be quite different.

Is this the first D23 event in Asia?

Not exactly. Disney previously hosted D23 Expo events in Japan in 2013, 2015, and 2018. However, this will be the first event under the D23 Asia name and the first D23 fan event in Southeast Asia.

With Singapore just a short flight away from several neighboring countries, the event offers fans across the region a more accessible opportunity to attend a major Disney celebration without traveling to the US.

When do tickets go on sale?

Here’s another date worth remembering: Tickets for D23 Asia are scheduled to go on sale in November 2026.

Disney has yet to announce the exact ticket-selling date, prices, pass options, and whether a D23 membership will be required to purchase tickets. More details about the event’s programming and ticketing arrangements are also expected to be released through its official channels.

Planning to fly to Singapore for D23 Asia?

For Philippine passport holders considering the trip, Singapore currently allows visa-free entry for short tourist visits.

Since ticket prices and the full event schedule have yet to be announced, it may be worth checking those details before finalizing flights and accommodations. For now, fans can mark their calendars for June 25 to 27, 2027.

So if you’re hoping for a first look at an upcoming Marvel film, new Disney+ announcements, limited-edition collectibles, or simply the chance to celebrate your favorite stories with fellow fans, D23 Asia is an event worth keeping on your radar.

And this time, you won’t have to travel all the way to California to be part of the excitement.
