Saint Laurent’s S/S25 mixes bold power suits and modern glamour

This collection showed that the brand’s strength lies in its ability to blend tradition with modern sophistication.

In the iconic courtyard of Saint Laurent’s headquarters, Anthony Vaccarello’s spring-summer 2025 collection made a strong, confident statement for Paris Fashion Week.

The collection balanced sharp, tailored power suits with opulent eveningwear, all while paying homage to the house’s history.

Vaccarello, who has been redefining the brand since taking over in 2016, delivered a collection rooted in quiet luxury with carefully placed maximalist accents. In a notable shift from last year’s utilitarian theme, this season’s collection opened with power suits in shades of dark grays, black, and deep plum.

Bella Hadid’s return to the runway, after a two-year break, opened the show with a sharp, tailored suit, setting the tone for a collection that was both powerful and refined. Vaccarello focused on strong, oversized blazers, double-breasted jackets, and wide-leg trousers in muted shades like black and plum. The tailored pieces felt serious and structured, but their simplicity made them even more impactful, showing that power in fashion doesn’t need to shout.

Accessories added just the right touch of glamour—chunky gold bangles, glossy leather belts, and glittering shoes played homage to the house’s history while keeping the looks modern. These small details nodded to YSL’s past, but the collection remained fresh and relevant

As it moved from daywear to evening looks, color and texture came alive. Vibrant shades of fuchsia, emerald, and yellow lit up the runway, with brocade blazers, sheer blouses, and ruffled skirts adding a playful, luxurious vibe. These pieces balanced out the more rigid suiting, showing that the Saint Laurent woman can be both bold and elegant.

Throughout the collection, Vaccarello skillfully merged structure with sensuality, mixing powerful, sharp lines with flowing, colorful evening wear.

Front-row appearances by fashion icons Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, actresses Zoe Kravitz and Gwyneth Paltrow, added to the sense that this was more than just a runway show—it was a celebration of Saint Laurent’s enduring legacy.

As Bella Hadid closed the show in another perfectly tailored suit, the message was clear: This collection showed that the brand’s strength lies in its ability to blend tradition with modern sophistication.
