The Rolls-Royce Phantom Cherry Blossom is a rolling work of art

Rolls-Royce’s new ride is a poetic homage to sakura, from its elegant, understated aesthetic to its sakura-embroidered interior.

The bliss and fascination one feels from seeing Japan’s cherry blossoms up close is unlike any other. And if you’re part of the world’s ultrawealthy, you wouldn’t just settle for flying to Japan, hoping, wishing, praying that you’d see them in full bloom. You’d want to see them all year round—in the comfort of your car.

Take it from Rolls-Royce’s newest ride, the Phantom Cherry Blossom, which is inspired by the beauty of Japan’s highly coveted flowers. Unveiled last week, it’s a rolling work of art commissioned by a Japanese client and rolled out after three years of intricate embroidery and exquisite detailing.

Customized to reflect the client’s “cherished Hanami memories, spanning both childhood and parenthood,” the Phantom Cherry Blossom is a poetic homage to sakura from the inside out. The subtle yet striking exteriors have a Crystal over Arctic White finish, offering an elegant and sophisticated contrast to the decorated interior within. A hand-painted coachline runs along the side of the vehicle and ends with a small cherry blossom flourish, providing a preview of its artistic interiors.

Stepping inside transports you instantly into Japan’s serene pink-filled landscape. The centerpiece of the interior is a bespoke Starlight Headliner embroidered with cascading cherry branches in full bloom and sprinkled with white blossoms.

The branches appear to be intertwining and rising from the rear to the front of the car. Petals drifting across the roof evoke the sensation of sitting under a Sakura tree on a breezy spring day. The intricate embroidery, according to Rolls-Royce, is made from 250,000 stitches and took three weeks to finish.

The interior of Phantom Cherry Blossom brings you the bliss of being under a magical cherry blossom tree.

In a Rolls-Royce first, the interior comes complete with three-dimensional cherry petal embroidery on the rear door panels and privacy suite partition between the front and rear passenger compartments.  These petals were positioned strategically to complement the interior lighting and create soft shadow effects.

Bespoke at its finest. The Rolls-Royce Phantom Cherry Blossom comes complete with 3D petals in various parts of the vehicle.

The magic of cherry blossoms extends even to the accessories, such as the umbrellas stashed in the doors. Embellished with cherry blossom patterns, they are the perfect example that no detail is too small for Rolls-Royce.

The price of Rolls-Royce Phantom Cherry Blossom has not been released, but it’s likely to cost more than the base Phantom, which typically starts at P65 million. If you don’t mind paying extra to experience cherry blossoms anytime, anywhere, then this might be an ideal solution.
