What’s new with the iPhone 18 Pro and Duo, what they cost in PH, and whether it’s time to switch.
You know that feeling when you’ve just upgraded your phone, then Apple announces a new one? I recently got the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and now the iPhone 18 Pro and foldable iPhone Duo have me curious. I’m happy with what I have, but of course I had to see what’s new.

The iPhone 18 Pro focuses on photos and battery life
The iPhone 18 Pro has a 6.3-inch screen, while the Pro Max offers a bigger 6.9-inch display. Both have Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, which powers everything from everyday apps to games and photo editing.
Both models have three 48-megapixel rear cameras. The main camera can now adjust how much light enters its lens, helping with nighttime photos and keeping more people sharp in group shots. You can let the camera handle the adjustments automatically.
Apple says the Pro Max model offers up to 43 hours of video playback, though everyday battery life will vary. Both phones come in burgundy, glacier, silver, and black, with storage options from 256GB to 2TB.
The iPhone Duo gives you room to unfold
The Duo is Apple’s first foldable iPhone. You can use its 5.4-inch outer screen while it’s closed, then open it to a larger 7.6-inch display for reading, watching videos, or browsing. It has two 48-megapixel rear cameras and can stand on its own for hands-free calls. It comes in Night Sky and Star White and uses an eSIM, a digital SIM, instead of a physical card.
Some comments I’ve seen say Apple has made the foldable idea look even better. I understand the appeal, though I’d want to try it first. Personally, I still like having a separate iPad with my Apple Pencil. That setup works for me.
Philippine prices are listed, but the wait continues
As of September 11, 2026, Apple’s Philippine store still says to check back for availability. The 18 Pro lineup starts at P94,990, while the Duo starts at P159,990.
For someone like me who recently upgraded, the new features don’t feel like a reason to replace a phone I’m still enjoying.
If you’re using an iPhone 14 and below and struggling with battery life, storage, or slow apps, upgrading could make more sense. There’s no rush, though. The right time is when your phone stops keeping up with you.
