Sunlight Air rebrands with bold new look, bolder goals for 2025

In a lavish Makati event, the boutique domestic airline also unveiled its upcoming offerings and destinations, teased by CEO Ryna Brito-Garcia.

Amidst bright lights and a room basked in its signature blue, Sunlight Air welcomes the new year with a refined logo, expanded branding, and a new tagline: “Your Next Story.” The boutique airline has been on a streak of celebration as of recent. Between its win at the ASEANTA Excellence Awards back in January, taking home the ‘Best ASEAN Airline Program’ award, and now launching its new look to media and business partners at Century City Mall — the airline is definitely revving up for a big year.

New look, same commitment to service

Opening the event, Sunlight Air CEO Ryna Brito-Garcia welcomed guests and expressed her enthusiasm for their current and upcoming developments. “We are thrilled to enter Sunlight Air’s sixth year in the industry with a refreshed new look that symbolizes our unwavering efforts to become an airline that continuously evolves with and for our passengers,” Brito-Garcia shares. “This milestone is only the first of many exciting things to come for Sunlight Air in 2025, and we are grateful for the unwavering support of our customers that have brought us here today.”

Their renewed logo stays true to the original design, not straying too far from what passengers have been used to, with a sleeker typeface and streamlined shapes to make it a more recognizable logo. The more extensive change is their branding, with expanded imagery and a color scheme that showcase the vast applications of their brand in varying mediums, be it digital or on print. This new fully integrated look culminates with the premiere of their new TVC, featuring Sunlight Air ambassador Yassi Pressman, where all these rebranded elements come together in an energetic, enticing invitation to experience the boutique service that Sunlight Air offers.

Sunlight Air executives discuss the brand’s refreshed look and new tagline.

Although its visual changes are apparent, Brito-Garcia affirms that their commitment to passengers stays firmly at the core of their operations. Their new tagline, “Your Next Story,” reinforces this commitment, putting passenger service and satisfaction at the forefront.

When asked which of their current routes she would recommend to someone who has yet to experience Sunlight Air’s service, Brito-Garcia responded with an underrated destination that she believes has a lot to offer. “I think one [route] we’ve heard of a lot, but we don’t travel to it that much, is Cagayan de Oro — which we fly to by Cebu,” she shares. “There [are] so many things to see in Cagayan — [there are] hikes, islands, [and] it’s just a car ride away from Camiguin.”

Brito-Garcia adds to her eagerness for Camiguin as a go-to destination, due to its proximity and easy access from CDO. “Camiguin, [it’s the] same, you can hike, there are rivers, mountains, [and] beaches,” she continues. “And it’s just one place that I feel we don’t hype up as much. So if there’s anything I would push, which is actually part of our pipeline also, is to push Cagayan de Oro more this year.”

What’s on the horizon

Along with their updated look comes some exciting developments for passengers from the airline. First of which is their loyalty program, Sunlight Air Miles, which has already soft launched and is available for sign-ups via the Sunlight Air app. The program provides passengers with opportunities to earn miles for flight and non-flight perks, which will include merchandise, treats from Sunlight Air partner brands, and hotel stays.

Along with the acquisition of new aircraft back in January, Brito-Garcia teased on eventual new routes and destinations for the airline to roll out throughout the year. “A lot of Filipinos are looking for island destinations that aren’t the usual island destinations,” she shares on the apparent passenger demand for more domestic routes. No official announcement was made at the event on new destinations, but Sunlight Air has expressed looking into routes to Bantayan Island and Siquijor. Currently, Sunlight Air flies out from Clark, Cebu, and Manila to Coron (Busuanga), Boracay (Caticlan), Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, and Siargao.
