Mark your calendars, bibliophiles! The world’s biggest book fair is heading back to Manila this May.
Real talk: We are about halfway through 2025. Yep, time flies that fast. But here’s the good news: Bibliophiles are yet to step into one of the best times of the year, as Big Bad Wolf Book Sale is returning to Metro Manila this May.
Popular for being the biggest book sale in the world, Big Bad Wolf is flocked by voracious readers across the globe for its massive discounts and extensive variety of books. Fans of the book fair, also called “Wolfies,” should start making room on their shelves, as Big Bad Wolf is finally happening from May 23 to June 2 at Virra Mall in Greenhills, San Juan City.
This year, the book fair offers up to 95% discount on over two million titles—some exclusively found at the event. Prices start at just P60 across various genres, including fiction, non-fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, history, business, art and design, and children’s books. So, if you’re looking to expand your “to read” list without going over budget, then consider your last week of May booked.

Prepare to spend an entire day at the fair, with the doors opening at 10 am and closing at 9 pm from Monday to Thursday. Those who are dropping by for last-minute shopping can also do so, especially on Fridays to Sundays, when the fair is open until 10 pm.
Like the previous installments of the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale, entrance is free to this year’s event. For those who want to score good titles ahead of everyone else, the book fair has launched a promo wherein 500 Wolfies, plus two of their friends, will be granted VIP or early access to the event.
To join, readers must first repost Big Bad Wolf’s Facebook post (here) on their Facebook or Instagram accounts and make sure that their profiles are set to public. On your post, tag the book fair’s official social media account and two friends that you would want to tag along. The rest of the mechanics are found in the same link above. Better hurry, as you only have until April 21 to join.

Manila is the second stop in Big Bad Wolf’s Philippine tour this year. It kicked off its first book sale of 2025 at the SMX Convention Center in Clark, Pampanga from March 14 to 23. In 2024, the book sale made several stops in Metro Manila, including Quezon City, Makati, Manila, and Parañaque.
Big Bad Wolf was launched in Kuala Lumpur back in 2009. Andrew Yap and Jacqueline Ng, founders of the famed BookXcess bookstore chain in Malaysia, created it with the mission “to empower people to gain knowledge and to promote the reading habit and certainly the joy of reading.”
Since its inception, the book sale has toured 49 cities in 17 countries, including Cambodia, Indonesia, Kenya, Myanmar, Pakistan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates. Most recently, Big Bad Wolf added Egypt and Saudi Arabia to its growing list of destinations around the globe.
