In the premiere of “Heart World,” Heart Evangelista lifts the curtain on what really goes down during fashion week—and it’s not all champagne and couture.
The debut episode of her reality show documents the chaos, work ethic, and passion that made her a global fashion icon. From migraines to a hit-and-run and heartwarming meet-cutes, it seems that sometimes things don’t go according to plan in the glamorous world of fashion—especially in the world of fashion.
For Heart, fashion week is a balancing act. She wakes up at 5 a.m., goes to fittings, appearances, and photoshoots, sometimes with a pounding migraine. Her team faces their own share of chaos too: one member gets sick, and another gets involved in a hit-and-run. But for Heart, it’s all part of the experience. “It’s part of the story,” she says. Her determination and love for what she does gives the episode a real taste of what it takes to be a fashion icon.

The episode also discusses relationships that have shaped Heart’s fashion journey. From her close friendship with Michael Coste of Hermès to her unexpected bond with Christian Louboutin—the man behind the shoes she once dreamed of owning—Heart’s life is filled with connections that seem almost too good to be true.
Author Kevin Kwan, whom she calls her “angel,” opened doors to the international fashion scene with her Crazy Rich Asians feature on Harper’s Bazaar. That was, she says, the turning point that made her longing to attend fashion week a reality.

One of Heart’s favorite memories is of her meeting South Korean actress Song Hye Kyo, whom she admired since she first watched Full House. The excitement of meeting her idol is a reminder that even Heart Evangelista can be starstruck.

She also recalls her brief encounter with Vogue’s Anna Wintour. Heart found herself at a Vogue-hosted breakfast in Paris with Wintour, describing her as “detached but magnetic.” She humorously shares how everyone seemed afraid of Wintour, whose famous sunglasses served as her invisible barrier.
“You can see everyone is scared of her,” Heart remarks, noting how Wintour exuded authority—making it clear that she’s the “queen of queens” in the fashion world.
Another part of the episode was when Heart also took a moment to reflect on her fashion aspirations. She admires Miroslava Duma, whom she calls as the “superstar of street style.”
But beyond her style goals, Heart offers more insight into how she balances passion and work. She says understanding the difference between the two is important because sometimes you do not have to love work, but you have to do it. Love for passion and what you want to do—that’s what makes you grow as a person too. For Heart, fashion week is about more than just a series of shows, it’s about individuality and letting people be themselves.

The pilot episode of Heart World gives viewers a mix of glitz, chaos, and behind-the-scenes drama, but it only scratches the surface of Heart Evangelista’s life as a global fashion figure.
We’ll probably see more of Heart’s day-to-day life and the dynamic between her and her team as the series goes on, but there’s also hope for more content outside of her usual fashion week appearances. With all the glam comes real pressure, and it will be interesting to see how the series develops Heart’s story as more than just a highlight reel of her star-studded encounters.
