Banana Republic’s summer campaign is an ode to the modern explorer

Mérida, the vibrant capital of Yucatán state, backdrops the pieces inspired by their surroundings and unforgettable escapes.

Photographer Josh Olins took the campaign across Mérida with American model Taylor Hill with Ibby Sow, Marlon Teixeira, and Melodie Vaxelaire across various locations in Mérida.

“It was so great to see the shoot unfold. The intention behind Banana Republic’s styling was really interesting, and it was great to see everyone’s vision come together as we traveled from location to location across the city of Merida, Mexico,” says model Taylor Hill.

Summer 2024 brings Banana Republic to Mérida, Mexico.

A season of get-togethers and celebrations

Soft, natural tones like crystalized blues, stark whites, and shades of yellow define the seasonal color palette.

Soft, natural tones like crystalized blues, stark whites, and shades of yellow that are reminiscent of sunset vistas define the seasonal color palette. Pink iris saturates two standout women’s styles: a two-piece linen set and the twisted prima cotton midi dress. Stripes are also seen throughout the collection; contrasting in black and white on a maxi dress and in a softer, wide-set stripe pattern on the linen long-sleeve polo and pleated shorts set.

Menswear plays on color and textural variations to create a dynamic summer wardrobe. A light blue linen suit contrasts strongly against a deep navy blue button-down shirt, creating a three-piece look that is sophisticated in its approach to formal summer dressing.

Natural shades like seafoam green, soft eggshell, and light yellow are seen in fabrics like cashmere and linen, creating perfect layers for summer nights ahead.

Bright pops of color contrast with neutral hues. Lightweight linen made from the finest European flax. Crisp poplin to keep you cool even when it’s hot. This beloved California-born brand helps enliven—and makes more comfortable—this season of get-togethers and celebrations, laughter and good vibes.
