Diamonds and all kinds of sparkly things for the holidays

There is nothing a lady loves more than some sparkly baubles, especially during the holiday season.

The more diamonds it’s got, the better. Or maybe Santa will leave a little velvet box under the tree with your name on it. Fortunately, his little elves over at Tessera Jewelry have their holiday pop-up store over at Greenbelt 5 laden with shiny and shimmery diamond pieces.

The folks over at Tessera, led by sales director and co-founder Papat Fider, started the afternoon with a luxurious lunch at Lusso. Fellow writers and bloggers exchanged notes on their most coveted piece of jewelry — and if it would make it to their “Christmas gift to self” list this year. So we walked over to the pop-up post-haste, only to realize that Papat and her team were not going to make it an easy choice for anyone.

Tessera’s pop-up store in Greenbelt is up through December 2023.

There was a chorus of ooh’s and aah’s from the ladies as we tried on rings, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces from Tessera’s newest collection. Each piece was dripping with diamonds of all shapes, sizes – you just had to try them all on for maximum effect. Many took a fancy to the classic diamond stud earrings and rings, while the cluster pieces got the best reactions. The gents, on the other hand, were quietly scoping out possible gifts for their significant others.

What makes Tessera jewelry stand out, aside from their modern classy designs, is that each piece comes with a certification from the International Gemological Institute (IGI). “With an IGI certification, clients are assured and have confidence in the diamond pieces they choose,” explains Fider. “Knowing that each stone has undergone rigorous examination and has passed the highest industry standards.”

The IGI was founded in Antwerp, Belgium, one of the global centers for the diamond trade, in 1975. Their goal is provide unbiased certifications for diamonds, gemstones, and jewelry, earning for them a reputation for the highest standards and a commitment to accuracy.

As one of the world’s largest and most prestigious gemological laboratories, IGI certification is a guarantee of the provenance and quality of natural diamonds, accepted by jewelry retailers and consumers in over 200 countries.

The guidelines set by IGI aligns with Tessera Jewelry’s commitment to creating the most beautiful pieces using ethically-sourced conflict-free, natural & mined diamonds, in compliance with the Kimberley Process.  All these measures ensure that the jewelry their customers get meets only the highest standards .

What made this visit to Tessera’s holiday pop-up even cooler is that they now offer diamond testing services on site. Clients can arrange to have the diamonds they purchase tested via a really nifty device called the DiaTrue Mobile that scans the diamonds for the four C’s — cut, color, clarity, and carat weight. The same scanner tells you if the stones naturally mined or grown in a lab. It was also interesting to learn that diamonds that get IGI certification actually have a serial number engraved into it – and Tessera can show you where it is with yet a small tabletop gadget.

Tessera’s pop-up at Greenbelt is all the way through to December. They also have showrooms in 38 Rockwell, 1 Proscenium, Arton Strip in Katipunan, Quezon City and Ayala Abreeza, Davao.
