Even with the updated guidelines, Cannes continues to be one of the biggest stages for red carpet fashion.
The Cannes Film Festival is back for its 78th year and as always, the red carpet is drawing as much attention as the films. But before the red carpet rolls, the festival introduced a few unexpected changes. A new dress code now bans sheer dresses, visible nudity, and those dramatic gowns with long trains. According to organizers, the idea is to keep things tasteful but despite the changes, many celebrities still made bold fashion choices.

Stars like Bella Hadid, Eva Longoria, and Julia Garner appeared in carefully styled looks that balanced elegance with individuality. Some had to rethink their outfits entirely. Jury member Halle Berry mentioned she had to swap her dress because the original had a train that was too long. Others showed up in looks that walked the line. Technically within the rules, but still attention-grabbing.
