The creepy, clever, and wonderfully ridiculous looks we’re still thinking about.
A good Halloween costume makes you look twice. A great one makes you save it. This year, celebrities gave us plenty of both: beautiful gowns, some with gruesome details; couples with competing agendas; and a pop star dressed as a rat.
Here are the looks that made our list.
Filipino celebrities brought the beautiful nightmares
Heart Evangelista wore an intricately beaded white gown with a nasty surprise: knives at the back and red accents. Elegant but still iconic for the occasion.

Alden Richards went as a warrior angel in white and ornate gold armor. He looked ready to leave the party for a much more dramatic assignment. And to add to that, he won best costume of the night.
Andrea Brillantes recreated that nightmare where you’re suddenly naked in public. Prosthetics and newspaper details created the illusion, giving Shake, Rattle & Ball’s dream theme a cheeky interpretation

Harryween had range
Harry Styles closed his historic 30-night Madison Square Garden residency with two Harryween shows on October 30 and 31. For the first night, he dressed as Elvis Presley while his band and dancers became different versions of Harry through the years.

He later changed into his 2010 The X Factor audition look and sang Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely,” the song he originally performed for the judges. A full-circle moment before the residency’s final bow.

For the October 31 finale, he became New York’s pizza rat, later sporting an “I am a rat” shirt, rat ears, and a tail. The night also included a banner presentation from Jalen Brunson marking his 30 consecutive shows at the venue. Quite a milestone to celebrate in a rat costume.

Couples gave us twice the fun
Hailey and Justin Bieber chose angel and devil costumes. Her oversized white wings and halo paired with his red outfit, horns, and tail. A classic combination that still delivers.

Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin picked The Nightmare Before Christmas, with Dylan as Jack Skellington and Barbara as Oogie Boogie. We love that she chose the troublemaker.

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka became the twins from The Shining. Matching blue dresses, matching wigs, and an excellent reason to avoid the hotel corridor.

Familiar faces became costume inspiration
Kim Kardashian dressed as North West. When your daughter has a recognizable enough style to become your Halloween costume, the family resemblance becomes part of the joke.

Paris Hilton recreated Britney Spears’ 2001 VMAs look, python included. The reference needed no explanation.

Lisa Rinna went as Kylie Jenner in her orange Marty Supreme premiere outfit. Apparently, red carpet looks now come as inspo for Halloween.

Things got weird, in the best way
Heidi Klum became a giant severed hand. Which she revealed was inspired by her own left hand.

Kendall Jenner chose Jane Henderson from Paris, Texas, while Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker took inspiration from Scarface. Something for the movie fans scrolling through the party photos.

A little Y2K glamour
Zendaya channeled Halle Berry at the 2000 New York premiere of X-Men, wearing the same printed Lanvin bikini top and matching low-rise trousers. With Law Roach behind the styling and her pixie cut completing the resemblance, this was a fashion throwback worth a double take.

The parties may be over, but we’re keeping a few of these looks on our costume mood board.
