Celebrating a month of creativity

The first Philippine Creative Industries Month celebration will host an afternoon of workshops and exhibits.

Earlier this month, several government and cultural agencies spearheaded the inauguration of September as the Philippine Creative Industries Month (PCIM).

In line with the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act (RA No. 11904) authored by Congressman Christopher “Toff” de Venecia, the month-long festivities will cast the spotlight on the country’s creative industries and how they contribute to nation-building, cultural enrichment, and socioeconomic development.

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts will hold the official celebration of PCIM on September 17 at Rizal Park.

Across the country, several events have been running since the launch or are expected to take place. These include the upcoming Tubo Cebu Art Fair (September 15-17, 2023) and the FiestaKutcha, a series of regional creative festivals being held in Cebu, Leyte, Davao, and Baguio, among others. On September 17, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts will hold the official celebration of PCIM through an afternoon of workshops and exhibits. Happening from 2 to 5:30 pm at Rizal Park, the event will host various activities across several creative domains, including audio-visual media, performing arts, and traditional cultural expression, among others.
