Pickleball is a paddle sport in which two or four players hit a perforated, hollow plastic ball with paddles over a 34-inch-high net until one side is unable to return the ball or commits an infraction. It’s a sport that’s been making waves across the globe, and Ayala Malls is encouraging shoppers to engage in an active and healthy lifestyle.
Kicking off the campaign, Ayala Malls hosted a thrilling pickleball match between Ayala Corporation Chairman Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala and Lizzie Zobel de Ayala as well as the younger generation of Zobels—Mariana Zobel de Ayala and Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala.
The friendly yet competitive showdown captivated both sports enthusiasts and curious onlookers, taking place at Greenbelt Fashion Walk. Following the kickoff event, there will be a series of pickleball clinics on Saturdays, where beginners can learn the basics from expert coaches, and men’s and women’s doubles inter-mall tournaments in November for beginners, intermediate, and open-level players.
