Artists used the Grammy stage to celebrate music while making statements on immigration and identity.
The 68th Grammy Awards just happened in Los Angeles, held at the Crypto.com Arena. And this year’s ceremony sees Trevor Noah returning as host for the sixth straight year, which is also his last.
Kendrick Lamar led the nominations with nine nods for GNX, and expectations were high; the same for artists like Lady Gaga, Tyler, the Creator, and Bad Bunny.

Performances from Sabrina Carpenter, Rose, Bruno Mars, Olivia Dean, KATSEYE and more also made the night even more exciting and a showcase of the diversity we have now in the music industry.
“ICE OUT” takes over the Grammys
This year, many looks came with a message. Several attendees arrived wearing “Ice Out” pins, a clear protest against US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) policies. Among those spotted with the pins are Billie Eilish, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Joni Mitchell, and Kehlani.

This follows the wave of protests linked to aggressive immigration enforcement in Minnesota recently, including the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Their deaths sparked public outrage, vigils, and walkouts, and tonight, it also showed up at the Grammys.

After picking up Best Músical Urbana Album, Bad Bunny opened his speech with “Before I give glory to God… ICE out.” the Puerto Rican artist said. “We’re not savage. We’re not animals. We’re not aliens. We are humans, and we are Americans.” And later that night, he also took home Album of the Year.
Olivia Dean accepted the award for Best New Artist with an emotional speech. “I want to say I’m up here as a granddaughter of an immigrant,” she said. “I’m a product of bravery, and I think those people deserve to be celebrated. We’re nothing without each other.”

Billie Eilish didn’t just wear an “ICE OUT” pin; she used her acceptance speech for Song of the Year to call out ICE directly. “No one is illegal on stolen land,” she said onstage after winning for Wildflower.
The night’s presenters included Cher, Carole King, Harry Styles, and Chappell Roan, each taking the stage to introduce major categories throughout the ceremony.

The looks that stopped us mid-scroll
Feathers, ruffles, long trains, and heavy draping dominated the carpet. Rosé brought an edge in a black minidress by Giambattista Valli, while Lady Gaga went full glam in a feathered black gown.

Trains were everywhere, but few matched the scale of Doechii’s Roberto Cavalli look, which came with a sweeping 13-foot train trailing behind her. Billie Eilish arrived in a deconstructed suit, while Bad Bunny wore a Schiaparelli Haute Couture corseted tuxedo while Harry Styles kept things clean in Dior by Jonathan Anderson, we also love the Dior mint ballet flats he wore! The cast of KPop Demon Hunters appeared in coordinated looks by Dior, Guvanch, and Thom Browne and KATSEYE in Ludovich.
There were also stars in more provocative moments, such as Chappell Roan in a Mugler gown held in place with nipple clamps.
