The 2026 Emmys looks we’re still thinking about

Big wins, Taylor Swift’s surprise sketch, and Zendaya in Prada. Our highlights from the ceremony and the red carpet.

Taylor Swift brought some detective work to the 2026 Emmys. Playing an SVU rookie in a prerecorded sketch, she watched Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson connect her songs to nominated shows to determine whether she would attend. Swift suggested a pre-filmed cameo instead. Her cat, also named Olivia Benson, joined the closing shot.

Elsewhere, Jean Smart collected her eighth Emmy, Sally Field received a standing ovation, and Sarah Michelle Gellar reunited with David Boreanaz. Meg Stalter arrived as an Emmy statuette, gold makeup and wings included. We love that commitment.

There was something for the Game of Thrones fans, too. Emilia Clarke and House of the Dragon star Emma D’Arcy shared the stage, bringing two generations of Targaryen royalty together. Clarke delivered a speech in High Valyrian, with D’Arcy offering to translate before reducing it to a simple “good evening.” A complicated family tree and a very brief translation? Okay, we love it.

Between the comedy, the reunions, and the speeches, there was plenty to keep the conversation going. And that’s before we get to the clothes.

The red carpet looks we loved

Then there was Zendaya, whose embellished Prada gown immediately had our attention. We loved the sparkle paired with a pixie haircut that totally suits her. It’s a look worth pausing over, especially to appreciate how the styling brings everything together.

Sarah Pidgeon’s lilac Chanel and Elle Fanning’s mint-green Ralph Lauren brought soft color to the carpet. While Selena Gomez shines in gold Louis Vuitton. For us, the fun is in those different approaches to getting dressed. Sometimes we fall for a simple silhouette. Sometimes we want all the embellishment. There’s room on our list for both.

These are the looks we kept coming back to, and the details that earned them a place among our best dressed at the 2026 Emmys.
