Couture gets a futuristic twist at Schiaparelli’s Fall 2025/26 show

“I wanted the collection to ask whether we can blur the line between past and future…”

Daniel Roseberry went full futuristic glam filling the Petit Palais in Paris with silver suits, sculpted bustiers, and details that blurred the line between past and future.

While some dresses hugged the body with classic corset shapes, others revealed flashes of skin with elaborate cutouts. He pulled from the past with ribbons, bustle skirts, hourglass corsets, and gave them a futuristic twist. There are jackets with matador-style shoulders and the palette played around black, white, silver, and flashes of bright red.

One of the most eye-catching pieces was a high-neck tulle gown covered in silver pearls, sequins, and rhinestones, designed to look like seashells. Another look featured a silver leather biker jacket with matador-style shoulders, worn over a crisp white shirt, black satin tie, and matching pants. The model wore mesh gloves, rhinestone earrings shaped like hats.

A red satin dress stood out for its sculpted chest and short sleeves, paired with a glittering red necklace shaped like a human heart that actually pulsed (yes!). And one of the final highlights was a sheer black cape embroidered with silver beads and sequins in the shape of Schiaparelli’s historic Apollo de Versailles motif. It was worn over a matching sheer skirt, with black velvet gloves and silver-heeled satin mules to finish the look.

As Roseberry shared in the show notes, the collection was rooted in a pivotal moment in Schiaparelli’s history: “In June of 1940, Elsa Schiaparelli left Paris, a city she loved and had grown to call home, and boarded a ship for New York. It marked the end of a decade, but also the end of a revolutionary period in fashion.” Drawing from that era, he wrote, “I wanted the collection to ask whether we can blur the line between past and future…I’m proposing a world without screens, without AI, without technology—an old world, yes, but a post-future one as well. Maybe they’re one and the same.”

The front row had its own lineup of standout looks too

A rainy day in Paris didn’t stop the stars from stepping out for the first day of Haute Couture Week. Early Monday morning, celebs including Dua Lipa, Cardi B, Hunter Schafer, Karol G, and fashion stylist Law Roach gathered at the Petit Palais to witness Schiaparelli’s new couture collection.

Dua Lipa showed up in a white ensemble with strong shoulders, a high slit, and the brand’s signature open keyhole on the chest. Hunter Schafer channeled vintage glamour in a mint striped strapless gown, hair slicked back to show off oversized crystal earrings. And of course, Cardi B turned heads with a sculptural black gown dripping in curtain-like fringe and a black crow perched on her hand, which she calmly called her “best friend.”

It was a surreal start to Paris Couture Week, and the perfect match for a collection that lives between eras. Roseberry may be entering a new chapter, but if this show proved anything, it’s that he’s not done surprising us yet.
