London’s largest Harry Potter Shop is now open—and it’s straight out of Diagon Alley

A two-storey flagship on Oxford Street invites Potterheads to explore magical merchandise, immersive attractions, and familiar locations from the films.

London has a new address for witches, wizards, and muggles alike. On November 4, the doors officially opened to the United Kingdom’s largest Harry Potter shop, transforming a stretch of the capital’s famous Oxford Street into a shopping destination worthy of Diagon Alley.

Located at The Ribbon, 134-140 Oxford Street, the flagship occupies over 21,000 square feet across two floors. The opening also marks a particularly fitting anniversary: 25 years since the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in London’s Leicester Square on November 4, 2001.

Designed as an immersive extension of J.K. Rowling’s fictional universe, the store combines elaborate film-inspired installations, interactive experiences, exclusive collectibles, and themed refreshments. Visitors can browse Hogwarts merchandise while exploring recreations of some of the franchise’s most recognizable settings.

A walk through Diagon Alley

The flagship takes much of its inspiration from Diagon Alley, the bustling wizarding shopping district where Hogwarts students purchase their school supplies. Detailed shopfronts, theatrical displays, and familiar architectural features recreate the atmosphere of the films.

Among its most impressive installations is a Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon overlooking the Gringotts-themed section, recalling the formidable creature seen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. Elsewhere, visitors can explore an Ollivanders-inspired wand display or pose beside a full-sized replica of the purple Knight Bus.

The experience extends to the Leaky Cauldron, where shoppers can order the franchise’s signature Butterbeer in its classic, hot, or frozen varieties. Butterbeer ice cream and other themed sweets complete the menu, giving fans another reason to linger between shopping stops.

Exclusive finds and personalized keepsakes

Beyond its elaborate interiors, the Oxford Street flagship offers merchandise created specifically for the London location. The collection includes a Diagon Alley wand, an exclusive Harry Potter Funko Pop, Butterbeer-themed products, and artwork by MinaLima, the graphic design studio responsible for many of the films’ distinctive visual details.

Visitors can also personalize selected souvenirs, including Hogwarts acceptance letters, notebooks, and Triwizard shirts. Another Oxford Street exclusive, the Hogwarts Bear Ceremony, introduces an interactive experience inspired by the Sorting Ceremony, allowing fans to take home a specially themed keepsake.

The shop’s emphasis on personalization makes it particularly appealing to collectors looking for souvenirs unavailable at conventional merchandise outlets.

Familiar faces return to Hogwarts

The opening attracted some familiar names from the original film series. Tom Felton, who portrayed Draco Malfoy, toured the flagship ahead of its public debut, admiring its detailed sets and wizarding merchandise.

Fellow cast member Warwick Davis, known for playing Professor Filius Flitwick, also attended the celebrations, performing his character’s signature wand movement to officially open the shop.

Their appearances add a nostalgic touch to the occasion, particularly as the franchise celebrates a quarter-century since its cinematic debut. Fans can catch glimpses of the festivities through the official Harry Potter Shop Instagram account.
