Many stars saved their best looks for the biggest red carpet of them all. Who could blame them?
The Oscars is finally here! The biggest names in Hollywood walked the red carpet at the 97th annual Academy Awards at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre and many stars saved their best looks for the biggest red carpet of them all.
From Halle Berry’s disco-ball Christian Siriano gown to Demi Moore’s Swarovski crystal-embellished Armani Privé dress, intricate detailing stood out.
Can we also talk about the numbers? Selena Gomez’s Ralph Lauren outfit, inspired by Sophia Loren, featured over 16,000 glass droplets. Ariana Grande’s Schiaparelli gown, straight from the Spring-Summer 2025 Haute Couture runway, was covered in over 190,000 crystal sequins, rhinestones, and cut beads, giving her tulle skirt an iridescent shimmer.

Wicked star Cynthia Erivo delivered another standout look in a dark green Louis Vuitton gown with a theatrical collar and bow. Scarlett Johansson went for velvet in a floor-length Thierry Mugler gown with matching evening gloves. Satin was the fabric of choice for many, including Best Actress winner Mikey Madison who wore a sleek gown by Christian Dior. While Blackpink’s Lisa, now a White Lotus star, wore one of the night’s best takes on formalwear: a Markgong tuxedo-inspired gown with a red floral brooch.
The evening’s men largely played it safe, though there were a few bold choices. Timothée Chalamet opted for butter yellow Givenchy leather, and Bowen Yang in an embroidered leather Etro jacket.
