Season 2 leaves Hyosan High behind as the outbreak spreads—bringing with it more zombies and higher stakes.
There’s just no stopping zombies from worming their way into the binge list of pop culture fans worldwide and, this time, they’re wreaking more havoc in the second season of the hit Netflix series All of Us Are Dead.
After three years, the streaming giant finally confirmed that Nam On-jo and her friends are heading back to the small screen for another round of gripping battle with the walking dead. And it’s not just Lee Cheong-san, Choi Nam-ra, and Lee Su-hyeok that’s coming along with her. The cast is fiercer than ever as a new group of students steps in to beat the zombies.
All of Us Are Dead season 2 was announced by Netflix on July 23, with a video showing the lead cast—Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chang-young, Cho Yi-hyun, and Lomon—coming together for the script reading of the show. Its return makes a lot of sense, as its freshman season accumulated over 560 million viewing hours within 28 days of its premiere on Jan. 28, 2022. The zombie apocalypse thriller also wormed its way into Netflix’s Top 10 non-English TV rankings across more than 90 countries.
Based on the webtoon by Joo Dong-geun, All of Us Are Dead season 1 plunges viewers into a terrifying zombie apocalypse at Hyosan High School, after a science teacher’s failed experiment unleashes a virus that kills students and faculty and turns them into flesh-eating, mighty, and almost indestructible monsters. On-jo (Park Ji-hu) and her gang then fight for survival, battling the infected, while trying to escape the school and find help.
The heart-pounding action continues in season 2, where On-jo becomes a student at Seoul University and continues to fight the trauma of her haunting experience in Hyosan High School. Just when she thought she was already far from danger, a new wave of infection takes over the city.

Alone without her friends, On-jo appears to be at greater risk until she crosses paths with a trio of battle-hardened university seniors. They are smart, tough, and know how to triumph over the madness. Adding to the chaos is Han Du Seok, who is a threat disguised as a National Intelligence Service team leader.
Aside from introducing new faces to the ensemble, All of Us Are Dead season 2 confirms that Cheong-san is still alive after seemingly sacrificing himself so his friends could escape Hyosan. This comes after Yoon Chaen-yoon, who plays Cheong-san, is seen joining the original cast in the show’s script reading shared by Netflix on social media last Wednesday.

What’s more, Cheong-san’s return isn’t just for flashbacks or visions, but as part of a different story taking place after the events of season 1. The next chapter will also explore the challenges of original Hyosan outbreak survivors Nam-ra (Cho Yi-hyun) and Su-hyeok (Lomon) at the resurgence of the deadly infection.
Joining them in the fight are new cast members Lee Min-jae (Weak Hero: Class 2), Kim Si-eun (Squid Game Season 2), Roh Jae-won (Squid Game Seasons 2 and 3), and Yoon Ga-i (Lies Hidden in My Garden). Netflix has kept the upcoming show’s release date under wraps, but it is expected to drop in 2026.
