The collection pays homage to traditional nautical colors, while introducing softer shades of pink and grey for a modern update.
In a nod to the maritime motifs that have long defined his brand, Tommy Hilfiger chose a fitting—and unexpected—venue: a decommissioned Staten Island Ferry, now owned by comedians Pete Davidson and Colin Jost. MV John F. Kennedy became a floating runway for the fashion elite during New York Fashion Week, combining Hilfiger’s signature all-American prep with a touch of nautical adventure.
Guests such as Stray Kids’ Felix, BLACKPINKS’s Jisoo, and actors Brooke Shields, Shay Mitchell, and Madelyn Cline boarded the boat at sunset, and were greeted by the ferry’s nostalgic interior—vintage benches and all. It was a calculated chaos that only a Tommy show could pull off: editors mingled, snacked on caramel corn (wrapped in Hilfiger-emblazoned boxes), and sipped champagne while the boat swayed softly beneath their feet.
Breton and Ithaca stripes—a nod to sailing traditions—adorned everything from oversized sweaters to sailor-inspired blazers. As models glided through the narrow walkways of the MV John F. Kennedy, front-row guests watched from vintage ferry benches, dressed in the latest pieces from Hilfiger’s collection.
The standout pieces were Hilfiger’s preppy staples given a fresh twist: leather varsity jackets, pinstriped club blazers, and yacht-ready chinos. His reimagined “New American Prep” as grounded in comfort, still conveys an air of timeless sophistication. Anchored in a palette of crisp whites, deepest navy blues, and buoy reds, the collection paid homage to traditional nautical colors while introducing softer shades of pink and grey for a modern update.
