The artistic duality of women in Chloé’s Spring 2026 collection

Chemena Kamali depicts the Chloé woman as one who dares to be ideal and stylish while staying true to her personal way of dressing.

Strong yet vulnerable, sensual but soft, ambitious yet nurturing. The duality of women today is powerful as much as it is complex, and its beauty serves as the core of Chloé’s Spring 2026 collection titled “Female Vertigo.”

The new capsule is a discussion on the way society understands femininity in modern fashion and how it plays an integral role in shaping a new era. A vision of creative director Chemena Kamali, “Female Vertigo” draws inspiration from 1980s film and photography that present women through two different lenses. One captures the perfect and ideal, while the other dives into the raw and authentic.

It reflects how men portray women in idealized, stylized narratives, as seen in noir thrillers. These portraits are grounded in glamour and fantasy, projecting perfection and desire highly influenced by societal stereotypes. At the same time, the capsule embodies a more intimate, authentic vision formed by creators such as photographer Sybille Mallmann and filmmaker Bette Gordon.

Mallmann’s work captures the daily lives of young female artists in West Berlin and Munich with honesty and depth. They highlight the art in the ordinary and real. Gordon similarly demonstrated this in societal perceptions of women through her 1983 film Variety, which Kamali rewatched recently. Both Mallmann and Gordon’s approach offers a truthful depiction of womanhood, one emphasizing self-expression rather than forming a fantasy.

The result is a graphic wardrobe that blends structure with fluidity, sensuality with introspection, and nostalgia with innovation. Kamali, for this season, depicts the Chloé woman as one who dares to experiment while staying true to her personal way of dressing. She possesses a captivating duality characterized by structure and ease, of sensuality and strength.

The garments feature contrasting silhouettes in blazers with structured architectural cuts to dresses that flow fluidly on the body while flattering its shape. The choices of fabrics reinforce the balance between strength and subtlety. They are light but purposeful, holding shape and form even in movement and motion.

Colors are meanwhile unapologetically vivid, ranging from cinematic red to Berlin gray, and accentuated by spark prints that bring the big screen’s visual drama to life. Combined with assertive tailoring, each piece is designed to project the power of a woman’s duality that makes her both the director and main character of her own story.

The Chloé Spring 2026 collection will be available in selected boutiques and on Chloe.com starting November 2025.
